(Valentina face claim)

Fourteen years later.

So many years of struggling to raise the handful of a daughter they had. Valentina had a hard attitude and Aurora knew it was bound to happen. This was the karma she was receiving for giving her father such a hard time.

Elijah and Aurora had moved to Mexico for some time. Aurora wanted Valentina to know a few things about her culture and what it was like to live there. How not everything in the world was perfect like they could make it seem.

Aurora knew she had a choice. She could hide the world to her and give her everything she needed which she wished she could do. She had the power to do that and yet she chose not to.

She wanted Valentina to experience what it was like to not have much. Give her a taste of reality since her life was basically a fairy tale.

They wanted to believe it worked. That Valentina wasn't the hardheaded girl she acted like around them but usually when she was like that it wasn't unusual it was just normal teenage behavior.

Valentina had been enrolled in school in Mexico ever since she was nine. They would go to New Orleans during vacations or mystic falls but during school they would stay in Mexico.

Specifically where Aurora had taken Elijah all those years ago. Where her family was originally from. Elijah made aurora's dream happen. He built her a home just like she wanted a big Hacienda with their last names in the front gate.

Enough rooms for all their family and everything to the style of an hacienda. Aurora was incredibly happy with the life they had built there.

She was currently in the kitchen making some food for Valentina and whoever she would bring today home from school. She liked to bring her friends over all the time which Aurora didn't mind. She wanted Valentina to be that way with them.

"Mami!" Valentina shouted just as she arrived home from school.

"Kitchen!" Aurora shouted back. She turned to see the girl who was on her phone. "What's wrong? Where's Sofia?"

"Oh her mom wanted her home, she'll be here for practice though" Valentina was having her quinceañera on the weekend. Another reason Aurora was crazy busy but she knew today she would have a few things off her shoulders since a bunch of people were going to start showing up.

"Okay. Want some lunch? I don't want you with no attitude before everyone starts getting here" Aurora showed Valentina the food she had made and she just nodded.

Valentina watched her mom serve her some food debating on telling her that something was wrong. "I think something is wrong with me..."

When she said this Aurora looked up. There were times Aurora interrogated Valentina too much. She wanted to know if she had a boyfriend or if she had a guy she liked.
