"Better?" Elijah stood outside the bathroom at a station after having to stop for Aurora to throw up. He wanted to go in there with her but she refused to let him watch her.
"How long until we get to your house?" She asked.
"Little less than an hour," he replied. He looked at the girl wondering if something else was bothering her. "Are you alright?"
"Yeah I just need a ton of snacks" she walked into the snack aisle and began grabbing a bunch of snacks then headed to the fridges to grab something to drink. When she turned to look at Elijah she smiled to see his amused look. "If I don't eat something I will throw up again"
"Not judging. Get whatever you want" he shrugged, taking a few things out of her hand to hold them so she could keep going but she didn't she just headed to the slurpee machine. She took a cup and poured a couple of flavors into it then finally turned around taking a sip.
"All done!" She cheered and started to walk to the exit while Elijah didn't even bother to ring everything out once he noticed she had walked out on her own. He just pulled out a few bills which he never carried anything under twenty and set it on the counter before walking out rushing after her.
"Aurora..." he took her arm stopping her. "While we're here do not leave my sight I beg you"
"Elijah I'm okay I promise..." she assured while she held her big cup with a bunch of colors from the different flavors. "I know you must think I'm weak but..."
She paused once she noticed him opening her door to get into the passenger seat. "I can do things on my own. I won't break I promise"
Elijah just chuckled and let her get inside the car then he headed to the driver seat to get in. He set all the snacks down and watched as Luna got on Aurora's lap. She had been extra clingy with her ever since the pregnancy.
"Aurora I am aware you're capable of doing things on your own but I just don't want you to. That's what I'm here for and just promise while we're here in New Orleans you stay within my reach I can't...I can't afford you being in danger" Elijah spoke while she opened her snacks and began to eat.
"And you're not saying this because you believe I am weak because I'm a human now right?" She asked, taking a bite from one of her snacks.
"Of course not, but the people here have their ways, understand?" He warned and the girl nodded. She began messing with Luna giving her a few treats she had gotten for her inside the store as well.
Suddenly she noticed Elijah getting a bit uncomfortable. She turned her head towards him, noticing sweat starting to drip from his forehead.
