~aisha's pov~

i got to the steakhouse about 15 minutes later. i parked my car near the entrance; it wasn't that busy tonight. i saw my coworker's car just a few parking spots away. i walked inside and looked around, spotting safa at a two person table beside the window. she noticed my gaze and waved, her dahlia dimples showing in her smile. i walked over and sat down, hanging my purse on the chair.

"hi!" safa greeted me. i waved.

safa and i were hired from the same batch of applicants. we both bonded because we were the only people in that batch to speak arabic, so we always had our little conversations when we could. she came from pakistan and did university here in denmark, going to aarhus, then applied for archaeological positions in copenhagen. we've been good friends since we were both hired, going on lunch and dinner dates often.

the waiter came over soon after i arrived with a notepad in hand.

"hi, welcome! what could i get you guys to drink?" he asked.

we both ordered two red wines. the waiter jotted down our orders and left to retrieve our drinks.

"glad you could make it tonight!" safa said in arabic.

"of course! i love our dinner dates." i giggled, picking up a menu to look at.

"have you been here before?" my coworker asked.

"no, i haven't, but i've heard the food is really good. have you?"

"i have once when my family came to visit, and the critics are right; it's pretty good."

the waiter came back with a tray with two glasses of wine. he elegantly placed the two glasses in front of us, then put the tray under his armpit. he took out his notepad again, asking us what we would like to order. we both got their most famous steak with a side of garden salad.

"i'll be back!" he said, making his way back to the kitchen.

a small smile appeared on safa's lips. "so, how's that korean guy you've been talking to?" she asked, wiggling her eyebrows.

i rolled my eyes. coincidentally, safa and i were both on stan twitter, stray kids stan twitter specifically. that's also how we bonded, was through our love for stray kids. i believe i had interacted with her a couple of times before knowing her in person; it was almost as if it was meant to be. also, her bias is jisung.

i had told her about lee when he first started talking to me. she got super excited, saying how cool it was to have a k-stay mutual, but soon started shipping us. i turned it down multiple times; no way i'd e-date!

"lee is great! he's a nice guy. you should follow him, you seem to be interested in him." i said, taking a piece of bread from the bread basket we got.

"no, i'm going to leave him to you. he seems to really like you!"

"already? it seems too soon."

"you never know!"

i shook my head in disagreement. i don't think he likes me, we just met. i don't think he's scrolled that far in my account to find my face, that would be quite the dedication if he did.
