As I study with the new girl, Rimuru, it becomes increasingly clear that she possesses an extraordinary magical ability. Historically, magic users who could harness all forms of magic were believed to be part of the extinct Shifters—an ancient race wiped out long ago. According to the texts I've studied, Shifters were highly coveted for their unparalleled versatility. However, these texts are ambiguous, either due to alterations by the Shifters themselves or due to lost knowledge. It's widely accepted that Shifters no longer exist, making Rimuru's abilities particularly intriguing.

Rimuru's power is striking, not just because she can utilize all elemental magics, but also because she can perceive and understand others' abilities. This resemblance to the Shifters' powers suggests she might be an exceptionally rare individual, perhaps even the last of her kind, though the exact nature of her abilities remains unclear.

The staff here seem unusually cautious around her, exhibiting a level of apprehension that piques my curiosity. I noticed John Dee's reaction when he found her; his relief was evident, and he hurriedly retreated afterward. Their behavior hints at a deeper concern regarding Rimuru, possibly related to her unique powers.

Rimuru has agreed to test my newly developed spells in exchange for learning more about magic from me. Her willingness to collaborate and her apparent eagerness to learn are promising. Given her abilities, she could be a valuable asset in unraveling the mysteries of magic that I've been investigating.

I'm also puzzled by the fact that, despite being taken against her will, Rimuru is allowed relative freedom. This leniency makes me suspect that there's an underlying motive for her continued presence here. I need to observe her interactions and decisions closely. Her actions will likely shed light on the true nature of this place and its inhabitants, and potentially reveal more about the nature of her powers.
