Meliodas's POV:

(Better pull this plan off or I'll be in a bad spot. The things Rimuru comes up with are wild and scary. To think that someone can easily outthink a deity is insane.) I pull out my wings and fly back to the base of the Ten Commandments. There, to no one's surprise, is my younger brother Zeldris.

"Hey Meliodas, how was the meeting with that girl? Learn anything from her?" (He knows that whatever I say, it's not possible to hide my intentions, so he just asks directly. I need to remember what Rimuru told me.)

Flashback Meliodas's POV:

"Okay, but what kind of conversation are we going to have that gives us the ability to fool the Demon King?" I asked Rimuru.

She smiled at me and started to say, "I am going to tell you what I am capable of and my past, but I will also say things that are not true. However, I won't tell you what is true and what is not. That way, even if they ask if you know if I lied, you can tell them that you have some guesses but don't know for sure. You just have to not think about whether what I am saying is true. Then it is not a lie.

"You can even express your opinion on what you are told in this conversation, just don't mention that we are planning this conversation and you will be fine. To prevent them from asking you that question, you can always give them the message that I will provide you at the moment they ask. You will know what it is when we have our talk." I took a moment to think about it and then made a decision. "Well, okay then, let's have our talk."

"I grew up totally alone because my parents were always out fighting for our people," Rimuru started the conversation.

"Why were you alone? Surely there must have been some sort of connection to the other people?" I asked.

"I was born with the gift to replace anything I am aware of. I can replace magic, knowledge I read once, any strategy that is used where I am present. You can probably tell that my parents thought it was too powerful, so they shut me away where nobody could know about me, to prevent anyone from using me for their own gain," she said to me.

"If that is the case, then how were you ever able to get away from that place?" I asked.

"It wasn't really difficult. I was staying there of my own accord. As long as my family came back to me, I didn't need anything else. But one day, they didn't come home, so I snuck out to find them, but all I found were their dead bodies. They had used a spell to cover up the blade so nobody but me could touch it, ensuring it wouldn't go to the killer. That's how I got my sword. It is the only thing I have left of them, as there is nothing else left of them in this world," she said.

I could not find a response right away. (This is harder than I expected. If what she says is true, then it's really sad. Yet, I must not show sympathy.)

"So what happened to their belongings?" I asked.

"I couldn't bear to look at the stuff that was from my family, and I destroyed it all when I got too emotional. After that, I woke up with nothing left except my katana," she said, as if she were sad.

"So that is why you were never discovered by us," I told her. She nodded.

"Even though I know you are just here to help your father with his plan, I am still happy to have you here as my guest. I don't have any friends to talk to, so your willingness to talk to me like a normal person is nice. I hate royal etiquette because it reminds me of my parents. I don't have any people to rule, so I am royalty only in title. I don't consider myself such because I have no subjects. Hey, before I bring you back, can I ask you for a favor?" she asked me.

I answered, "If it is not anything troubling, then I don't mind." She started talking again. "Could you please pass on a message to Zeldris and the Demon King?" she asked. (So this is it.)

"Sure, I don't mind," I told her.

"Tell Zeldris this: 'I know you are the first person to ask about me. It is really sweet of you to care. But you are way too predictable, so work on that. As for your question, I did not accept the offer to join because I knew we would never be able to work well together. We are just too similar yet different in the most important ways. May our paths cross again, and may we get along better, okay?

"And this is for the Demon King: 'Hey, Demon King, if you want to know what happened, just ask people. I didn't invite you on my day off, so ask about it afterwards, but don't irritate me on my day off,'" she said. (Why would that help? She said she knew for a fact that it would work for the situation, so did she predict what will happen? Scary thought.)

"I'll be sure to tell them that," I ended our rehearsed conversation.

Flashback End

"Well, it was certainly not a waste of time. I guess you could say that she really has a great arsenal of things she can use. Her sense of awareness is also impressive; she knew what magic was used to spy on us while I did not feel the magic. She teleported me to her house and told me that I could relax because we wouldn't be seen by anyone else as long as we were in the house.

"At one point, she was more open about herself than I thought she would be. She did say that she had not been able to talk to anyone since she doesn't have any friends, but she even told me that she knew I was just a spy but didn't care. Just being able to talk and have a drink with anyone like a normal person was good enough for her," I said.

Zeldris's POV:

(Rimuru really is a strange person, so what my brother said is not unbelievable at all. Still, if she was that kind of person, then why would she not accept Father's proposal? It couldn't have been me, right? So what did she let go, and what was the truth? She must have had some plan if she knew. But then again, what if my brother was involved in this? I don't want to suspect him, but it is a possibility.)

I wanted to ask him more about it, so I asked, "Could you tell me more about it?" He looked at me and started giggling. (I don't like where this is going.)

"I say she has a good sense of humor as well. Just listen to the message I had to give you: 'I know you are the first person to ask about me. It is really sweet of you to care. But you are way too predictable, so work on that. As for your question, I did not accept to join because I knew we would never be able to work well together. We are just too similar yet different in the most important ways. May our paths cross again, and may we get along better, okay.' Really scary stuff."

(He said as he did some things that Rimuru would do. I really don't like that girl, but she is really clever, just as my brother said. I admit that at least. And that does confirm my question.)

I let out an irritated sigh and said to my brother, "Just go to Father and report there." I walked away, not wanting to think about that girl anymore.
