Rimuru POV:

This really is the place where you can find information on all kinds of things. Today, I'm going to look for information about what happened to my deity and where I can find the entrance to the Goddess Realm. After that, I'll help Merlin with her research. Learning new spells that aren't in any books is amazing. The ability to create new spells is truly impressive. Merlin is a great witch.

I would like to help her find what she's looking for. I've been reading through the books she's been using with 'Thought Acceleration'; it's very interesting. I even found more information about my own race and a hint about who might help me discover the fate of my deity. Some of the information is misleading to those who don't understand it. I think it's for the best that people don't grasp how it really works because it makes it easier for me to hide my race. It makes me wonder how they discovered all the other Shifters.

(Oh, that reminds me, why are all the staff ignoring my activities in the facility? They must have a reason for keeping me here, yet they don't even try to intervene. No matter how you look at it, it's just weird.) {It could be a result of John Dee's ability; he might have information about consequences if they act against you.} (You have a point, Ciel. I didn't consider that as a possibility. I think it's time to give them something to think about.)

I walk to where I sense John and poke him in the back. He didn't even notice me and was totally shocked when he turned around and looked down at me. "Don't scare me like that," he muttered softly. I couldn't help but giggle at him. "What do you want, Rimuru?" he asked.

"You told me you would make me the most powerful witch, yet nobody is saying anything to me. What's going on? Are you retracting what you said? Am I not good enough for the position?

I've been studying the whole time and even started asking other children for advice on what to learn since I'm unsure about what's useful. Could you please help me find an advanced magic book to teach me more complex spells?" I looked up at him with puppy dog eyes, and he looked at me with a surprised expression. (He definitely wasn't expecting me to say that all this was because of what he told me. If I can make him think he has some influence over me, it will be easier to predict his actions.)

If I had to describe the look on his face, I'd say it was like he had just made a breakthrough in a difficult case. "If you wait here for a bit, I need to get someone to cover my current work schedule," he said. He walked to the first staff member he could find, told him something, and then came back. "Okay, that's taken care of. Now I have all the time to help you," he said with a smile that didn't reach his eyes. (He's probably planning something for when we start training.)

He began walking with me to a place I hadn't been before. We entered a room, and Ciel began speaking.

{Warning: Teleport skills disabled. Notes: Attempted mind control success negated. They think they can fully control your mind at the moment. Please avoid blowing your cover and plan accordingly while in the room. You can act dizzy and still speak sensibly, as they are aware of your resistance to a certain level.} (I'll keep that in mind.) "Mister Dee, I'm feeling dizzy. What's going on here?" I asked, putting my hand on my head.

"You've been a real problem child for days now," he said, dropping his friendly demeanor. "I'm a problem child?" I asked.

"You've been very troublesome, and now you need to be punished for it," he said with a creepy smile. I began to cry and then spoke again. "Please forgive me. I was wrong." (I'm really starting to get good at this.)

He looked at me with satisfaction as I faced my guilt. "I will forgive you, but from now on, you must do everything I say," he said. (Yep, your stereotypical evil scientist.) "If I follow your orders, will I become the most powerful witch as you promised?" I asked, putting my other hand on my head and bowing slightly. "Ouch, my head hurts so much. Please make it stop hurting," I pleaded.

"This is your own fault. You experience more pain each time you defy me," he said. I acted as if I could no longer bear the pain; my eyes lost their brightness, and I fell to the ground. "Please make it stop," I continued to plead until I closed my eyes and pretended to pass out from the pain. He started laughing like a maniac. It seemed they were genuinely scared of my behavior.

Someone walked into the room. {Notice: Master has been fitted with a shocking collar. It appears to deliver electrical shocks when activated.} (Scary. Can you negate it?)

{Your necklace can neutralize the pain but not the shock itself.} (Destroy it, then?) {Not a problem.} (Well, then it's not an issue.) {They seem to have disabled the brainwashing magic.} (So I can wake up?) {Affirmative.}

As the other person left, John kicked me against the wall and walked up to me. Fortunately, my necklace mitigated half of the damage.

At this point, I opened my eyes and looked at him with a pained expression. "Please, no more," I muttered. He looked down at me with disgust. "If you were just a normal child, you wouldn't have to suffer, but you're not something we can dispose of. If you want to avoid suffering, you'd better not step out of line. If you do something wrong, you'll be punished by the collar around your neck. You'll be training here from 3 a.m. until 9 p.m. Better not be late."

I looked scared but started speaking. "But if I'm here all the time, I won't have a chance to speak with Merlin."

The collar began to deliver shocks. "Ah, make it stop!" I screamed while gasping for air.

"Didn't you learn anything from before? Don't talk back to me; just obey," he said. He stopped the shocks and kicked me again.

I didn't react anymore. I just stared at him blankly. "That's better. Let's heal you; after all, you can't even stand in this condition. Here, 'Heal.' Stand up; we need to get started." I looked up at him, scared. He looked as though he had just won the jackpot. And so began the training from hell. (Maybe I did go overboard.)
