And I wonder why I've been like a flower
A blooming one, as what they've referred
Blight, full of light, yours at last
All because you stopped and asked

Rest heart, rest
Let them be mad and curious
For whatever lies at end of the meadow;
Is all that we know, all that we own

And you wonder why I've been shy
Going by with you like a dragonfly
Quiet — in your calmness I rested
All because you paused and waited

Come dear, come
Let us be free like dandelion puffs
For all the haste amidst rough winds
Has made me yours, truly yours

And I've long been wondering, dear
How dare I make you wait til bounty rain
Look at the garden of prose I've made
All because you vowed and stayed

And I wonder why I've been like a flower
A blooming one, as what they've referred
Blight, full of light, yours at last
All because you stopped and asked

And you wonder why the drops are dew
For the hurdles it's been, the thicker it is
And whatever lies at the end of this meadow
Has made me yours, truly yours
