You crafted a giant star lantern
When we were asked for a small oneYou cooked an entire bowl of porridge
When I felt like I was getting a coldYou bought me two bags of oranges
When I said the ones in the fridge were the bestYou did my hair and tried to meet my amusement
When you caught me looking enviously at other girlsYou rushed to school and confronted the bully
Right after I ran to you, whining and cryingYou ran and took out the emergency kit
When I burnt my finger out of clumsinessYou taught me the entire book of history
When I only asked for the meaning of one wordYou drove me to places where I had to be
Even when you had your doubts of leaving meYou told me my grades were the best you've seen
When I couldn't even bare to take a glimpse of itYou bought me things I never even asked for
Even when you barely had anything in storeYou'd wake up at four and do all the hustle
When I was the one who wouldn't move a muslceYou let me love a guy you barely know
When I knew you wanted to roast him before you'd let us goYou drove me off to a different house for college
Even though your eyes were watering while carrying bagsYou've been learning on how to let me be
When I told you I how I wanted to be freeYou've watched this little girl run off from your grasp
To the first man in my life, you're the answer to questions I'd ask⊶⊰ ⊱⊷
