You crafted a giant star lantern
When we were asked for a small one
You cooked an entire bowl of porridge
When I felt like I was getting a cold
You bought me two bags of oranges
When I said the ones in the fridge were the best
You did my hair and tried to meet my amusement
When you caught me looking enviously at other girls
You rushed to school and confronted the bully
Right after I ran to you, whining and crying
You ran and took out the emergency kit
When I burnt my finger out of clumsiness
You taught me the entire book of history
When I only asked for the meaning of one word
You drove me to places where I had to be
Even when you had your doubts of leaving me
You told me my grades were the best you've seen
When I couldn't even bare to take a glimpse of it
You bought me things I never even asked for
Even when you barely had anything in store
You'd wake up at four and do all the hustle
When I was the one who wouldn't move a muslce
You let me love a guy you barely know
When I knew you wanted to roast him before you'd let us go
You drove me off to a different house for college
Even though your eyes were watering while carrying bags
You've been learning on how to let me be
When I told you I how I wanted to be free
You've watched this little girl run off from your grasp
To the first man in my life, you're the answer to questions I'd ask
