I shifted in a bush as Lo'ak and I stalked a wild Hexipede group, I had completed all my training and just needed a clean kill to be ready to become one with the people. One of the wild Hexipede dropped its head down to eat, I drew back my bow ready to made a shot at one of them, I took a deep breath and released as it hit one of them, the rest ran as a jumped out of the bush and went by it.

I took our my knife. "Oel ngati kameie, ma tsmukan, ulte ngaru seiyi irayo. Ngari hu Eywa salew tirea, tokx 'ì'awn slu Na'viyä hapxì." (I see you brother, and I thank you. Your spirit will run with Eywa, while your body will remain and become part of the People.)

I look at Lo'ak as he examined the body. "A clean kill, you are ready to join the people."

Lo'ak helped me to start dragging the body back to the camp. When we got there we dropped the body to some of the hunters who would prepare the meat for the feast. Lo'ak and I went to Jake.

"Whats up guys? Hows training?" He asked.

"Ma sempul, she is ready to join the people." (Father, she is ready to join the people.)

"She is?" Jake asked and Lo'ak nodded. Jake smiled. "You will head out with the next group fo warriors which will be tomorrow, to get your Ikran so you can become one with the people. I am proud of you." He walks away.

Lo'ak sighs. "What is it?" I ask

" I wish my father was proud of me." Lo'ak said looking down.

"Hey look at me." He looked up. "He is proud of you. He just has a hard time showing it."

"No he doesnt."

I sighed. "Well even if your father isnt proud of you I am, I see what you do. You try your best. You make me proud."

He smiled. "Thanks Sey'ean now lets get you prepared for tomorrow."

The next morning..

That tent was buzzing with excitement, I got ready and was sitting by Lo'ak as painted marks onto my face. "What happened your first time taming an Ikran?" I asked

"Well during my first time the Ikran I was having difficulty controlled the Ikran and the animal bit my leg. Dad and Mom were watching. My Dad wanted to end the trail but my mom disagreed. I ended up getting thrown off the cliff and I lost consciousness." Lo'ak pased and laugh a little. "On my next attempt I tamed the Ikran and the whole family took a flight together, we then later celebrated my accomplishment."

"How do I know which one is the one I need to tame?" I questioned

"They will try to kill you." He replied grinning.

"Well thats just great." I mumbled. Lo'ak got up and helped me up.

"We better get going, Dad is giving a speech before we go." Lo'ak had put away the paint and we walked out to the group as Jake started to give a speech. "Today you will go on a Journey to tame your Ikran to become one with the people. If you do not get one this time you will still be a useless child until the next time where you can try again."

"If you do not get one on your third trail you will be declared a useless child forever. You will not be regonized by the clan as an adult. You may die. You got this." Jake pointed out towards the opening. "Now go get you Ikran."

There was hooting as we started to walk to get onto Pa'li's and we started our journey. It started to rain as we started climbing to the Ikran nest, I looked down as some rocks fell. It was a long way down.

We had to climb vines to get there, by then we had to walk by foot the rest of the way. I think it took us a good hour or two to get up there.

As we went behide a waterfall we could hear screeching from the Ikran nest. When we turned a corner a whole bunch of Ikran's were there. The first two warriors went and got there Ikran. One by one teenagers got there Ikran and flew off. "Sey'ean will go next." Lo'ak called out.

He handed me a rope to tie the Ikran's mouth shut so I dont get bit like Lo'ak did. I looked around until one Ikran was looking at me. It was Orange with black and white. It hissed at me.

"Your mine now." I say.

The Ikran charged at me as I jumped on its back trying to tie the mouth shut which failed. It moved its head back and hit me in the jaw. I quickly got up and went by a rock. I leaned down and hissed. The Ikran hissed back.

I tried again to tie its mouth shut, still nothing. On my third attempt I got the the Ikran's mouth shut and I had my feet around its neck. "Sey'ean you have to make the bond!" Lo'ak called out.

I grabbed my briad and the Ikran's as it kept trying to buck me off going in different directions. I sealed them together as the Ikran went limp. "Maway!" (Calm!)

I slid the rope off and the Ikran started to stand up. "Sey'ean the first flight seals the bond! Fly!" Lo'ak yelled

"Fly!" I screamed as it took off. Lo'ak was closely behide me as he got onto his Ikran. "Bank left!"

My Ikran went left. We flew around. We went in circles going fast like a whirlwind. as Lo'ak caught up to us and then we landed on a cliff. I got off and Lo'ak laughed. "You did it!"

I smiled. "So I will become one with the people?"

Lo'ak nodded. "What will you name your Ikran?"

I thought for a moment. "Telisi." I smiled. "It means Whirlwind."
