||Book 1 of my Lo'ak series!||
781 has spent her entire life confined in a laboratory, raised and studied by scientists who see her as nothing more than a test subject. She knows nothing of the outside world or the indigenous Na'vi people who inhab...
I groaned as there was bangingin my ear. "Rise and shine 781! Training starts today everyone is already up!" I peeled open my eyes to see Lo'ak standing over me with a stick and hitting something i didnt know of.
"Okay okay im up." I said, I sat up and stretched before getting up and changing clothes into a new outfit. I made my way outside before finding Lo'ak who was nearby. "Who is my instructor?"
"I am." He said. We started walking " there is a lot for you to learn, we will work fast and quickly. I may get called away to meeting's so that may halt your training." He sighs. "My father fears that another war may be on its way." He mumbled something under his breath I thought he was complaining about training me.
"So where do we start?" I asked. We made our way down to the forest where we walked into a clearing with a bunch of animals there.
"These are Pa'li or also known as Direhorses. Warriors in training ride them to get around until they can get an Ikran. Today we will learn how to ride."
We were in the middle of the area. "I want you to call them." he showed how by making a clicking noise and a Pa'li came up to him.
I tried it a few times. It didnt work until a pa'li came up to me and I slowly started to pet it. "Good." He came close by me. "Grab your Tsaheylu and make the bond gently."
I grabbed my braid and made the pond. I could feel the Pa'li's nervousness, its breath. Everything. I was instructed to get onto the direhorse. I sat on top of it. "Feel his breath his movement." I closed my eyes and breathed in and out.
"Now when your ready, tell him where you want to go." I opened my eyes
"Forward. Slowly." The Pa'li started to walk slowly and I instructed it to go around in a big circle. Coming to a halt by Lo'ak.
"Good. Why don't you bring her to go faster." Lo'ak said and instructed.
I breathed for a second. "Faster." The Pa'li started picking up the pace going faster. Others starting coming where the Pa'li were at.
After I finished that Lo'ak joined me on a Pa'li and we started riding through the forest. I was following Lo'ak jumping over things, over logs and going through water it splashing. Lo'ak was armed with his bow and knife.
We tried to jump over a huge tree. Key word tried. Lo'ak made it over easily and when I tried jumping over it. I feel into a patch of mud. There was a burst of laugher. "Are you okay?" Lo'ak finally asked.
"Im fine just covered in mud." I replied. I got up and started climbing over the fallen tree, when I made it to the top I could see Lo'ak on his Pa'li. He looked up at me and started laughing again. "It isnt funny." I grumbled
"Your right its hilarious!" He replied. I slid down the tree and made it by Lo'ak Pa'li where I pushed him over into a patch of mud. "Hey!" He said looking up at me.
"It isnt funny when you get pushed into the mud now is it?" I put my right arm on my hip. Lo'ak rolled his eyes. "Lets get back to training."
We got back on our Pa'li and rode for a while, practing coming to a halt, have the pa'li walk or run, until the sun started to set we headed back up the mountains and met up with Kiri.
We started walking back towards the tent talking about today's events after washing off the mud. I asked what Kiri did all day and she said she was helping her grandmother out with the wounded.
"Well if it isnt the freaks." I heard a new voice say
I turned around to see a group of girls, the first girl with her arms crossed. "And it looked like you have a new freak for your group."
"Back off, Leyra." Lo'ak said
"Or what are you gonna do. Go cry to your daddy?" This girl, Leyra said
"You heard what he say." I stepped up. Not gonna take the bulling to my new friends. "Back off."
SHe smirked and looked me up and down. "And who might you be?"
"None of your damn buiness." I said
"Dont speak to me that way, my father is the Olo'eyktans third in command." She said
"And my mother is Ewya herself." I said. "I dont give a fuck who your daddy is. You heard what Lo'ak said. Back off or we are gonna have a problem."
We turned around and started to walk away before I felt a shove and I was shoved to the ground. "Oops." I heard Leyra say.
I got up and turned around before I could walk Lo'ak grabbed my arm. "She isnt worth it lets go." I looked at her before she started waving.
We turned around again and started walking. "No wonder why her mother is dead." I could hear her saying. "She didnt want to be around to raise Kiri. Freaks."
Kiri hung her head down low as I looked at her. I turned around and walked towards Leyra. "Oh look who is coming back." She said when I made it to her and punched her in the face.
"I said back off or we are gonna have a problem." I said. Leyra got up and lunged at me knocking me to the ground. We started punching eachother rolling back and forth before I got on top of her. Nose bleeding and started punching her in the face a few times. Before someone dragged me off of her. I look up to see Jake.
He was walking backwards before letting me go and pushing me towards the tent. "Go get patched up. Ill speak to you back at home."
I started walking away before Kiri and Lo'ak were at my side. "That was badass bro." He said
I grinned, as we entered the tent. My nose was still bleeding. When Neteyam saw me he went and got a cloth and I pressed it on my nose. I only had a scrape by my eye brow and that was it. I sat by them as everyone even Tuk started talk.
Lo'ak was standing. "You should have seen her bro! She was all on top of her fighting and punching! It was badass! She was fierce." He stopped talking for a moment.
He was thinking. "Oh my Ewya thats perfect!" We turned to him looking confused. "I have the perfect name!"
"What is it then? Go on speak." Neteyam said.
"Sey'ean. It means fierce and blue." He motioned to me. "Because your blue."
We laughed a little and I said the name a few times. "Sey'ean. I like it."
"Then thats your name. Sey'ean."
