Nikita POV:
He sees me as a burden. I didn't want him thinking that. What's he doing to me? I don't know. I need to stay away from him.
I had jacket with me and decided to give it to him before going and sleeping. I knocked and he opened the door while on a call with his mom. I signaled that I wanted to keep his jacket but he grabbed my hand and pulled me in and closed the door. I stood by the door while he got settled on his bed. He looked at me and signaled me to come inside, but I was too scared to.
Nonetheless, I walked in. The room had a dark shade, with a grey bedsheet and grey stuff everywhere. I saw a picture of his family and smiled. I missed mine. He cut the call and came closer to me and pinned me against the wall. I stiffened. "Wh—at?" I asked.
"That's your in-laws," He said and smirked. I stared at him. What was he saying?
"N..no"
"Hmmm, well half-wife, my parents are your in-laws, right?"
"Don't call me that." I said, looking down.
"Anyway, did you have dinner?" He said, moving away, signaling me to sit on the bed.
I nodded, "I... I just wanted to give you the jacket, I.. I'll, go now."
I started heading back when I heard his voice,
"Suno"
I turned and saw him making his bed, "Apply your medicine before you sleep."
"Yeah." I said and left the room.I went to my room and thought to myself. Why is he calling me his half wife when he doesn't want me around? He doesn't want me around. I should give him his space. I'll stick to myself and just stay out of his way. Saying so, I planned my next steps. I decided to complete my work before he wakes up and head off to class, I can hide in class and then come home and lock my door and sleep. That's what he'd want.
Mayukh POV:
I woke up the next day and thought about her in the shower. How she blushes, how she gets shy, how she hides herself when she sees me, how she feels relieved, how her burn mark is completely gone now and her smooth skin is back to normal. I got ready for class and waited for her for breakfast.
"Hey Mayukh!" Esha said, walking in ready for class. I gave her a side hug and served her chai.
"How was your weekend? With your friends?" I asked.
"Arre amazing! Felt so nice! We'll also have them over once and we can all have a nice sleepover."
"Done! Sid and Nikita, where are they?"
"Sid is still sleeping, he is hungover from yesterday! He doesn't have class today so it's fine."
"What about Nikita?"
"She? She already left for university." Why did she leave so early?
"Oh, Cool." I tried to act unbothered.
"Chalo let's leave for class?" Esha said and we got ready and left.I was waiting for her to enter class for a while. I didn't see her. Esha had met her friends and I had met mine but somewhere I was still waiting for her. Where was she? Class started and she still hadn't entered. Was she okay? I scanned the whole class and I couldn't find her. It bothered me heavily. Class ended and she hadn't come. Before I could meet Esha, she had already left with her friends and even I met with mine. We went for lunch and everything.
I couldn't resist so I texted Sid asking if she's at home and within 10 minutes, I got a reply:No bro! I'm home alone, all okay?
I texted back: Nothing bro, Esha and I hadn't seen her all day, so we were wondering what happened?
Oh don't worry bro, she must be around only.
Are you okay now? Hangover done?
It's okay! Niki had left me panadol when she went in the morning, working on that!
Chalo good! See you soon!I left my phone. She wasn't at home either, where was she? I decided to text her myself. I had saved her number as half-wife. I don't know why but I liked calling her that. It annoys her and her eyes get all wide, furious and her nose becomes red.
I texted her: Hi half - wife, Where are you?
No reply.
It had been an hour since I sent it. It's delivered but she didn't read it. So I texted again.
Are you okay? Can you just tell me if you're fine?
No reply again. At around 9pm, we reached home. I had insisted we reach home sooner but Armaan was persistent on going for dinner so I had no choice. I instantly went to check on Nikita. Her room door was locked. What's going on? I came outside to seeing Sid sit on the couch watching TV.
"How was your day Sid bhai? Looking well now?" I said, giving him a side hug.
"Haan I cleaned up well, thanks to Nikita." He said.
"You had dinner?"
"Yes yes, Nikita came home around 6 and we had dinner together."
"Oh, did she go out again?"
"No no, she's inside. She said she attended today's lecture late and so she needs to catch up on work and then sleep. She's in her room, she locked the door so she's not distracted."
"Oh."
When did she even attend class? I didn't see her? What did Sid mean by later? We both ate and spoke around until Sid decided to sleep and so did I.I didn't know what to do. I needed to see her. Was she fine?
