Mayukh POV:
"Let's go then!" I said, at 8pm, once the movie ended, "We have work tomorrow."
"True. We do!" Sid nodded.
Esha got up, "Niki, aren't you staying here aaj?"
I looked at Nikita, who looked like she got caught.
Oh, so she wasn't gonna come home today.
"I... I—"
"She was, but I'm stealing my wife today." I said and held Nikita's waist.
"Simp!" Esha teased and nodded, "Then next time I'll steal your wife."
"You're free to try!" I teased. We got down and Nikita and I got in the car after waving a bye. Coco was asleep on her lap. She looked so scared. Ugh! This is on me.
"So. How was your first day?" I tried to talk.
She looked startled, "G..Good."
"Don't you have work from home tomorrow?"
She nodded.
"So do I." I said. I don't have it. I just take it.
She wasn't even talking to me. I can't blame her. I neglected her for 2 days. I felt guilty. I didn't talk after that. I stayed quiet and we got home.I locked the door while she took Coco into the guest room and made him sleep there. I assumed she'd be coming out soon, but she didn't. That's strange.
I walked to the room and saw that she had taken it as her room. Her bag was on the bed, her laptop was also on the bed. I heard the shower running so I realized she's there.
Why is she living in the guest room?
I opened the wardrobe and it was empty. Her suitcase was kept on the corner and she was just taking clothes from there.
Why hasn't she arranged it? What's going on?I went to my room and changed into home track pants. I was gonna put on a shirt when I heard Coco get up. I went downstairs and saw him grabbing food. I gave it; he went upstairs to my room. "Goodnight my boy!" I said as he went.
I walked into the room she was in. I saw her in shorts and a baggy top, so loose that her bra strap was showing. Her wet hair was staining her top. She saw me while she was fixing her tshirt and she turned around, looking afraid again. I walked up to her and turned her.
"Hey." I said, making her look down.
"I... I'm sorry.. I didn't... mean for you to... come to Esha.." she stammered.
My heart was breaking. I have so much to fix. I've scarred her even more than she already is.
"Stop talking." I said, coming closer and pinning her against the wall, "you're never saying sorry."
She looked up, "wha...what?"
I sighed and brought her on the bed, making her sit on the edge of it, while I knelt down facing her, "Why are you sleeping here?"
"You... you said pick a room." She stammered.
"And you picked the room furthest from me."
"I..." she didn't talk.
I sighed, "Get up. We're going to our room."
"No... I'll.. stay here."
"My love, you can't stay in a room that isn't yours."
"It's my room."
"Your room is with me. Come."
I got up and took her hand but she stopped me, "Mayukh... I... I'll stay here.
"Why?"
"I thought you... don't... want me there..."
I sighed. Right, "Nikita..." I said grabbing her hand, "Come up and we'll talk. Get your stuff. I'm taking your suitcases."
I didn't give her a chance to reply and took her bags and went upstairs. I started to arrange her clothes in my cupboard while she entered, with her bag and laptop and other last minute things.
"I... I'll take the couch."
"Chup kar!" I said, "pick your side."
"What are you doing?" She asked, putting everything on the table, "why are you... talking to me now?"
"Well since I found out my wife is moving out, I had to something, right?"
Her eyes widened in shock, "How... how did you find out?"
"Nothing hides from me Nikita. Don't try that stunt again." I said sternly, walking to her. I caught her arm and closed the door, and led her to the bed, making her sit and I kneeled in front of her.
"I'm sorry.... I... I overheard your talk with your Mom that day at the Pooja and I got upset at how you assumed we always need a high end lifestyle." I observed her face. She was looking down like a child getting yelled at. She looked scared and tears were falling from her eyes.
I continued, "Aai told me the truth today."
She looked up, "You... spoke to Aai?"
I know she was sad because Aai didn't call her.
"Yes, she was mad at you too, but hey, she asked about you and she'll call you tommorow. She knew you're with me and we were out today.
"What did she... tell you?"
"Your financial hold." I said truthfully.
She looked up instantly and her face got stern. She got up and distanced me from her, "Why?! Why did she tell you that?! That's my concern!"
"No. It's our concern."
"Mayukh. It's been going on for longer than we know each other. It's MY concern"
"There is no my and yours. It's OURS."
"It's not that easy." She said, looking angry, "just don't think about it. Forget it. I'm on it. I'm working now and I'll get my salary soon and then I'll start payi—"I cut her off by claiming her lips. I kissed her deeply and she held my hand to support herself but we both fell on my bed. I grabbed her waist and pushed her slowly on the bed and continued kissing her deeply. The kiss poured anger, desire and longing. My hand caressed her face, while I moved from her lips to her neck. Her moan echoed as I bit her on the one sweet spot I found. Her moans made me lose my control as I kissed her. She held my arms as support.
I left her lips after a while and hovered over her. Her face was red, hair was little messy, and she was shy. I caressed her face slowly with my knuckles, "It's OUR money. Our family. Us."
I got up and lifted her up near me, we sat down.
She was looking at me slowly.
"Hey." I said, caressing her face, "Look at me. She looked at me and I continued, "Listen to me carefully.... I covered your house loan and Kiddo's tuition. Don't stress about it now."
Her eyes got wide, "What?! Why would you?"
"Because I'm their son as well. Aren't I?"
"Yes, but..."
"So, if you babysit Reyansh everyday, it's fine?"
"Yes, it's fine."
"But I can't help Aai with her stuff? Why's that?"
"You don't understand, Mayukh."
"Then explain it to me, my love."
"You won't get it. It's complicated."
"Well," I said laying down, "you have our whole life to explain it to me. I'm sleeping now. Tu bhi soja, we're going out tommorow."
"Going out?" She said, lying down near me.
"Yes."
"Where?"
"Anywhere you'd want."
"But I have work Mayukh. It's my first week."
"You'll be fine. We're going after lunch, you work till then."
"Mayukh but—"
"No buts, wife. We're going. Now sleep."
She nodded and then relaxed, "Goodnight."
"Goodnight wife." I said, kissing her hand.I saw her fall asleep and within 20 minutes, she was in a deep sleep. I was not. I was still upset about the way I misjudged her.
I hurt you, darling, now all you'll get is love.~•~•~•~
