Nikita POV:
When I woke up and went to shower the next morning, I panicked seeing the effects of last night on my body. My chest was filled with hickeys. No one had ever given me hickeys. I tried to use soap to clean it off and use some sort of massage to get the hickey to go but all in vain. I showered and got dressed in a nice cargo home pant and a top. I had to find a top which covered my neck, but I clearly don't have anything.
I then decided to just wear a jacket. So, here I am, drying my hair and hiding the hickeys with concealer. Before I could hide all, Aai called me.
I came outside in my jacket to seeing everyone sitting in the hall watching TV. I walked to Aai.
"Yes Aai." I asked.
"Sit with us. Why are you sitting in your room like some ghost?"
I sat down. I saw Mayukh sitting on the couch opposite me, next to his Dad. He looked at me and I looked down. I was way too embarrassed to see him right now."So I was thinking, why don't you and Mayukh go today to submit your office documents?" His Mom said.
"Aunty, it's okay, I'll go."
"Nonsense. He's going there only. Have you applied in our Dubai office?"
I shook my head.
"Why don't you apply? The packages are really good right now, and I'll personally recommend you." His Dad said.
"Oh, I don't know Uncle, if I'll be able to fit."
"You will Beta." He then turned to Baba, "What do you say Amol Ji? She should apply right?"
"Of course you should Nikku. It's important to apply everywhere."
I nodded.
"Then it's settled. Nikita, you and Mayukh go now, submit your documents wherever you need to and Binoy, you please ask them to take her interview today only." Aunty said.
Uncle nodded and got on a call instantly. I looked at Mayukh who was busy on his phone.I went to get ready. I wore a nice beige skin tight pant with slight heels and a white formal shirt, with my sleeves rolled up slightly. My necklace rested on my neck and I wore basic earrings and got my hair tied in a braid, resting it on my shoulder. I made sure to cover all my hickeys as I did my slight makeup. I went outside and prayed and then took blessings of everyone and waited for Mayukh.
He came outside in his black shirt and black pants. Why does he always look good?! He came out and took everyone's blessings and came to me. We got the car keys and headed out of the house. As soon as we closed the door, I started walking ahead but Mayukh got me and embraced me.
"You look hot." He said.
"Mayukh. Let's go. We're getting late." I said sternly.
I plan on avoiding any conversation with him because I'm embarrassed. I walked towards the car and settled down. He entered and soon we started driving. It was a silent drive to the office. Once we reached, I felt Mayukh suddenly grab me and kiss my cheek.
"Good luck wife."
I blushed and said thank you. Why am I blushing? We entered the office and the lady led me to the interview room. Mayukh went to the CEO office directly. I entered the room and soon I gave my interview. It was a 30 minutes interview but by the end of it, it seemed to have gone well. The man who took my interview seemed very professional and friendly. He seemed impressed by me.
I came out after 30 minutes and couldn't find Mayukh, so I asked the same lady to help me out and she told me he was sitting in his cabin. His cabin?! What?! I followed her as she led me to a cabin on the 2nd floor.
I came upstairs and was entered his office. Just me. There was barely anyone on this floor. I knocked and the door immediately opened and I entered and closed the door. I looked around. This office was something else. There was a couch, a meeting area, a room with a coffee machine, a balcony and in the middle: a table with a chair on either end, and on the wall, a huge portrait of Uncle, Aunty, Ruyash and Mayukh. I heard footsteps and got startled and composed myself. I turned around to see Mayukh looking at me.
"Like it?" He said, bringing me a cup of coffee.
I nodded, taking the cup. "Why is Uncle's office so big? Doesn't he work from Kolkata?" I asked.
"It's not Dad's office. It was Ruyash Bhai's." He said, leading me to the balcony.
I followed him, "Who's is it now?"
He turned around, smiled, and opened the balcony door, "Mine."
I entered the balcony and wow, the view was amazing. It showed the whole Dubai skyline. I was amazed by the view.
"Wow, this is.... beautiful."
"It really is." He said, looking right at me.
I cleared my throat, "So, you're gonna work here now?"
"Yup. Next week is my first day. Till then Ruyash will complete the remaining projects and submit the files to me, i'll sit and read them."
"So, where are you going to stay?"
"At home."
"But—"
"Mom Dad stay here but not in this house, they stay in their house. This was a rented home I stayed in because our Dubai home is in renovation. That's why Mom Dad moved to Kolkata."
"Oh."
"Your parents don't plan on staying here right?"
"I don't know."
"What do you mean?"
"Baba, he... I told him to apply here. He doesn't want to really stay in India."
"Has he applied?"
"Yeah, waiting to hear back. But..."
"But?"
"All the companies he's getting aren't great. I guess his age plays a role in their hiring process."
"Hmm. So?"
"If nothing, then they'll go back to India. He has a good job there."
"It'll work out."
"Yeah."We drank coffee in silence when I got a call from Aai asking how the interview went. I answered and then cut the call and looked outside. It was beautiful. Light winds, cloudy skies. Suddenly, I felt my braid being undone. I turned around to seeing Mayukh untying my braid.
"Mayukh, what—"
"Wait."
He continued to untie my hair until they all untied and now flowed freely with the wind, gently caressing my face. He looked at me and pulled me closer. He looked at me and then slowly hugged me. He wrapped his arms around my waist. Before I could react, he let go."You're beautiful, wife."
I scowled, "I've told you not to call me that."
"When?"
"Yesterday, when I was in your room."
"Nope, all I remember is you moaning while I kissed the life out of you." He teased.
Okay, I was beyond embarrassed now. I'm out!
"I... I'll go home." I was about to leave when he pulled back and held my hand.
"I was waiting for you, we'll go together."
He went to his table, got his car keys while I grabbed my bag from the couch and we made our way out.I pressed the lift but he stopped me and tapped his card onto another lift. Instantly, the lift door opened and we walked in.
"What's the difference between this and that one?" I asked.
He wasn't answering, just looking at me.
"Hello? I'm asking you something!"
"Are you fine?"
"Mayukh, are you goi—"
Before I could finish, Mayukh had slammed his lips into mine. I held the lift railing for support as his one hand caressed my face while his other hand went around my waist as he kissed me roughly. He felt so good. He's a great kisser. He left my lips and slowly kissed my neck before kissing my lips again and pulling back slightly, his forehead touching mine.
"Shut up."
I could not answer. I stayed still and pushed him away slightly as he chuckled. I fixed my hair by tying my braid again, only to find my hair tie missing.
"Mayukh, give me my hair tie."
"Oh you mean this one?" He showed my hair tie, which now rested around his wrist.
"Mayukh, give it." I came closer, trying to reach my hair tie.
"Catch it." His hands went up as I tried to lift myself to get it. Instead he quickly wrapped his arms around me and kissed me again. The lift bell rang and we quickly left each other and stepped out. My hair was a small mess and I really needed my hair tie. I braided my hair anyway and left it untied as I brought it to my shoulder, giving him a glare.
Author POV:
They walked into the car and drove off. Unknown to them, Riya has seen this scene as she was in Mayukh's office trying to spend time with him.
"I had given her a warning, she wants to play the hard game." Riya said to her friend, "So be it."————————————————————————
