Mayukh POV:

Since she left, I've been feeling a void. I hung out with Armaan Sid Riya Ishaan and Rohan but it still felt empty. I saw Bruno sitting silently too. I knew he missed her too.

It had been 6 hours since she left. Did she reach home? I quickly took my phone and texted her. She replied within a second and we had a small conversation. I felt myself smiling at her texts. That time, I had a plan. I knew she wanted a dog, so I asked her for her address and quickly bought her a dog just like Coco and asked it to be shipped over to Indore. I was told he'll arrive next week.

The next day, everyone else flew off to Dubai. I decided to stay a few more days before flying back to Dubai as well. I was sitting in my room watching a show when Mom walked in.
"Mom, what happened?"
"Beta, Dad and I wanna talk to you. Come down."
I nodded and went down with her. We settled on the dining table and Mom continued.
"Will you be working in our company now? In Dubai?"
"Yeah, I had my interview today. It was amazing."
"We know you'll get in. Do you want to join?"
"Of course I do."
"That's good. So you'll move back to Dubai soon."
"Yeah I guess."
"Then that brings us to our next topic. Now that you have a job, what's next?" Dad asked.
"Meaning?"
"Job hai, what's your plan now?" Mom reiterated.
"I'll work, and chill."
"We want you to get married."
"WHAT?" I was shocked. I'm 24. I can't.
Well to be fair, you already are married Mayukh.
"Listen beta. It's just a beginning, but by the time we find and do it, you'll be 25/26."
"No but. I can't."
"Why not?!"
"Because...." I didn't know what to answer.
"Do you have a girlfriend?" Dad asked directly.
"What? No."
"Then what's the problem beta." Mom asked.
"I DON'T WANT TO MARRY BECAUSE I ALREADY HAVE A WIFE." I yelled unknowingly and annoyed.

Suddenly realizing what I said, I instantly panicked and my eyes widened. Shit.

"What??? You have a wife?" Mom screamed.
There's no way out now. I can't hide it. I sighed.
"Mom, Dad, yes. I have a wife. You know her."
They looked at me in shock, not able to answer so I continued, "I'll tell you everything."

"Mom, you remember when I was here last during Navratri, I had gone on a trip with the boys."
Mom nodded and I carried on, "Well, that night, these guys got really drunk and slept off early so I went for a walk. When I entered some village, I saw a marriage scene going on but I saw a girl there who was shocked and scared, so I followed her and found her talking to her aunt, who had apparently scammed her into thinking she's getting engaged to a good looking young guy. But instead she was being married to a 60 year old man because her aunt sold her. I thought it's best I stay away so I headed back but when I reached the outskirts of the village, she suddenly came and held my hand and was screaming for help and asked me to take her to a station so she can go home. Her aunt had surrounded us along with that 60 year old man. She had slapped her and her cheeks were red and lip side was bleeding. She was going to marry and I realized that the only way to save her was to marry her and so I did. I just put sindoor in her hair."

Mom Dad's expressions had changed from normal to shock to even more shock and concern.

"Then once her aunt left, I told her I'd bring her home so she could freshen up but she refused, saying that she already ruined my life and didn't want to ruin it more. I then said to come to the hotel because her aunt would kill her if she was alone. I gave her another room and then the next day I went to her and found out she had already left. She left her jewelry with me as a compensation for the room and dinner I paid for. She left a note saying that she's sorry for everything. I found out through the hotel management that she reached home safely. I thought that this would be the end of our road together, but..."
"But what?" Mom asked.
"It wasn't. We met again." I said, playing with my ring underneath the table, "And we got married again because her family here doesn't know that we haven't really been in a marriage. They.... they told us to, they wanted to see her married because they love her and feel guilty for what happened to her."
"Mayukh. Who is this girl?" Mom asked.
"You know her Mom Dad."
Dad and Mom's eyes looked confused.
"Nikita." I said and their eyes widened. I didn't know what to expect.

I waited to see their reaction and instead of a shock, I saw their eyes relaxing and their faces gleaming with joy. Now I was confused.

"What?" I asked.
Mom came and hugged me and then hugged Dad and sat down again, "This is amazing. Thank God!" She said and prayed looking up.
"What happened?"
"Beta... We were going to suggest your name to Nikita, we wanted you and her to get married. We both really love her." Dad said.
"I know." I chuckled slightly.
"Oh my God, wait!!!" Mom suddenly got up, "When did you say you got married to her Mayukh?"
"The last day of Durja Pujo." I said.
"Wow!!!! Did you hear that Binoy?" Mom smiled and said, "He got married on the most auspicious day as well. No wonder you two were going to find each other again."
I smiled slightly.
"So why are you two not together?" Dad asked.
"Dad, she's in guilt. She feels like she ruined my life. She's also traumatized by everything. She tried every reason to not come here."
"Is her aunt in jail now?" Dad asked.
I nodded, "I took care of it. I used our name to make sure she's dealt with fast. Nikita had a burn mark on her waist which her aunt did, I got the medicine for that too. The mark is gone now."
"Oh poor girl. No wonder she seemed so scared here. I thought I did something wrong." Mom said.
"She loves you Mom. She knew you're her mother-in-law and it was very weird for her."
"Well if someone would have told me that she's my daughter-in-law, I'd not let her feel weird." Mom chuckled.
"Do her parents know?"
I shook my head, "Only her cousin, me, her aunt's brother and his wife, they are the ones we visited that day, who made us... get married again," I showed my ring to them, "and now you
guys."
Mom Dad saw the ring and smiled.
"Two days ago was a Akshay Tritiya, any wedding happening that day would last for all 7 births and would be in peace always." Mom said, chuckling and smiling hard.
I rolled my eyes smiling, "So cultural."
"Beta, you don't believe in this but I know she does. That's why she's scared. She knows you
two have been married on 2 very good days. Do you like her?" Mom said.
"I don't know Mom. I know that I can't see her as just a friend or person because of our past but I don't know if there's anything more."
Mom nodded.
"I could sense something is up between them." Dad said and Mom smiled.
"Right, even I could. I didn't know it's this serious though." Mom chuckled.
"What? We were very sleek." I argued.
"Beta, yours and her actions were sleek. But I could see the way you looked at her." Mom chuckled, touched my shoulder and got up. Dad patted my back and got up as well. I stayed sitting.

What just happened?
