Nikita POV:

Why was he ignoring me? What did I do wrong?
Was it because I scoffed and walked away? Shit!

I'll apologize first thing in the morning, our flight is at 12pm, so we need to leave at 10am. I wasn't able to sleep because I felt bad that he's ignoring me. I don't deserve his love, I've never given it to him either, but... a part of me feels nice when he holds me, caresses me, hugs me.

It was currently 8am when I was ready in my olive green cargo pants and a white full sleeves U-neck top. I had showered and everything was done. My hair was braided and was resting on my shoulders and I was ready, sitting having breakfast with my parents and in-laws.
"Are you ready?" Aai asked.
I nodded.
"Where's Mayukh beta?" Maa said.
"He..." Truth is, I didn't even see him when I woke up. I don't know, "Maa he—"
"-is right here!" His deep, dusk voice came.
We turned to see him. He was coming down the stairs. He was wearing black cargos and a navy blue sweatshirt. He was looking good.
"Where were you?" Maa asked.
"I was with Coco, then I showered." He replied.
"Your flight is in 4 hours, have your breakfast fast so you both can leave."
He nodded and came to the table, but he sat next to Maa, leaving me alone on my side. I looked down, sensing tears in my eyes.
What did I do? He didn't even glance at me.
"When are Bhabhi and Bhai flying?" He asked.
"They're leaving at 9. They're ready. Just getting their stuff."
"We're here!" Dada said, carrying Reyansh.
"Come sit, eat! Where's Manisha?" Aai said.
"She's coming. Just on a call with her parents."

We all sat and soon Bhabhi joined. Everyone was talking and eating nicely. I kept glancing towards Mayukh, who didn't even look at me once. I was really hurt. I tried to ignore it and talk to those around me but I wasn't able to.

Soon, it was time for Dada and Bhabhi to leave. I kissed Reyansh's cheek and cuddled him, "I'll miss you my baby!" I smiled and he did as well.
"We're only a few hours away. Kuch bhi chahiye, just call us and we'll come!" Dada said.
"Bhai.... I'm... I'm sorry about this." I said.
"Sorry about what??" He asked.
"The fact that you're having to move to Dubai because my job is fixed in London. It's bad."
"Nonsense! I want you to work there. You'll grow insanely, and as for us, UK never meant to be our permanent address."
"Meaning?"
"We were only here for a few years, until the deal is set up and everything is up and running, then we'd return to Dubai. Dubai is much more off a home than London is."
"I see. That's... a relief." I said, unsure.
"Nikdu, don't think that you broke the family. The only thing you're breaking is yourself, and your head. We don't mind the switch and in-fact, Dubai is right for us. We like it there. Dad did suggest that someone else takes over the Dubai team, one of Mayukh's friends and we did agree, but last minute we chose to take it, so that even Mani can work in Dubai, back at her previous company."
"What about the person leading Dubai?"
"Ishaan, he'll be working with Mayukh in UK."
"Oh."
"Don't be sad, he was more than happy to. He'd be with his friend." Dada reassured and gave me a hug, "You'll be fine. I can't wait to hear Mr Gerard talk constant praises about you soon!"
I chuckled, a small drop of tear falling.
"I'll miss you Dada." I said, hugging him.
"I'll miss you too Nikdu, I'm never too far! You and Mayukh take care. Be nice to each other."
I nodded, dada he isn't even talking to me.
"I'll take care, of him and myself.
"Good then!"

We made our way outside and soon Dada, Bhabhi and Reyansh left. I got ready as well and prayed to God and called the driver, who would drop us to the airport.
"Hi. When will you reach?"
"Ma'am, I won't be able to come today."
"What?! Why?!"
"Ma'am, I'm sorry, my daughter really needs help. Medically. I'm with her."
"Oh." I felt bad for snapping, "I'm sorry. Please take care of her and if you need anything..."
"Don't worry Ma'am."
I cut the call.

He's not coming. Now what? How do I find someone this soon? Oh God.

I tried calling different agencies but they all seem to be busy today. Why are they all busy?
"Nikita." Maa said, sitting near me.
"Yes Maa." I said, putting my phone down.
"You and Mayukh will be starting your new adventure living together. I know that your past had been scary, very traumatic, but I also know that he likes you and that he'll take care of you. Don't hide things from him, treat him like a friend first and then your husband. Enjoy yourselves together!"
I nodded, a small tear falling from my eyes. My brother went, then my Bhabhi and Dada went, and now my in laws and parents are going too.
"Can we please have a reunions very soon? I don't like staying away from you all."
Maa chuckled, "Of course we will. Don't worry. Plus, Ruyash and your dad's work keeps them moving around, so I'll keep coming. Manisha would as well, but now she's caught up with Reyansh so it'll be difficult initially."
I nodded.
"Chalo. Get your stuff and let's go."

I met Aai and Baba as well, I shed a tear but I was happy seeing them happy. I apologized to Aai about the way I spoke and that I'd handle all expenses once I join, including the house's EMI.

Finally, we got ready and we soon got a cab, because we didn't get any car, and we left to the airport. Everyone was sad but we knew that this would bring in a good new environment.

I looked at my husband. He was on his phone, sitting beside me. My heart felt heavy not having him to talk to. I was scared that I did something.
"Mayukh...." I tried to talk. He didn't look at me but he kept his phone down, staring at the blank screen. I took it as an indication to continue, "I.. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said that you would not understand."
He didn't react and went back on his phone, without replying.
Ouch. That cut my heart in two.
"I... I'm sorry Mayukh." I hoped for a reply.
But it didn't come. He just continued scrolling.
I pressed my lips slowly and looked out the window, with silent tears falling down my face.

~•~•~•~

We landed in the UK at around 4pm. He hadn't glanced at me once during the flight. He simply let me have the window seat, but not getting in until I do, and he watched movies throughout. I tried to talk after that, by asking him about any good movies, or his work.... but no reply.

Now, we were in a cab going to Ruyash Dada and Manisha Bhabhi's old house. It was owned by the industry so it's ours. Mom had some people come and remove any of their stuff and bring in our belongings to make it like ours. New furniture and things had also come. Within 1 hour we reached and entered our home.

It was a beautiful 4 bedroom penthouse. Upon entering, we were taken to a huge hall, with a TV and balcony and an outside porch. To its left was a huge kitchen and the dining room. The stairs were to the right of the entrance, leading upstairs from where we could also look at the living room. Upstairs were 3 rooms, two rooms were in a single file line, and one was straight ahead... I assumed that's the master room. There was a maid's room at the bottom, with a guest room. It was beautiful. It overlooked the London skyline, with beautiful sunsets and sunrises.

"Thank you." Mayukh said to the help who got the stuff in, "Please let Juma Aunty know we're here and that she can start coming tomorrow."
The helper left, leaving us alone.

"Mayu—" before I could speak, he cut me off.
"Juma Aunty is here everyday, at 10am. She can either stay with us or she goes home after cooking. Your work, go to IBM tommorow and sort it out, I'll be working from tomorrow. I'm busy with this project. There's 3 rooms, you can have your own, choose whichever you want."
My eyes were tearing up at his every word.
"... lastly, no one here knows we're married. Keep it that way. You're good at keeping secrets anyway. Keep our marriage as one as well."

My heart was breaking into two. What does he mean I'm good at keeping secrets? What did I do? Somehow I managed to speak, "W....Why should our marriage be...a secret?"
"It complicates the deal. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go." He finished speaking and went upstairs into room, leaving me in tears in my new home.
