You do not know how you end up right next to your room. That is, right in front of his.

Befor coming here you had ended up searching the entire tower, but you couldn't find either Clint or Nat.

You had encountered Tony in his workshop with Bruce. They had explained why the spies weren't in the tower. And it was an understatement to say you were relieved. Tony had also apologised to you which was weird because the inventor was never sorry.

He said, the attacks had somehow disabled Jarvis, but he was working on it, so it should be fine soon.

You found Happy busy with party preparations. Tony told you nothing about it, neither did he. Apparently it was a surprise.

You also came across your books, that had gone disregarded for quite a long time now. You were tempted to keep it that way. Academic books just didn't have the same appeal as novels.

You almost open the door to his room, used to such informalities, but the sweet voice of his mother stopped you.

You decided you should knock instead. So you raised you hand and...

"She is a human Loki." Your hand fell right back down as did your hopes. Had you done something to offend her somehow?

"Thor is courting a human, too, Mother. You don't have a problem with that." He countered sounding more accusing than you had ever heard him to be.

You should probably go. It was their personal conversation, but... no. No buts, you should leave. So you take a hesitant step back.

"Y/n!" Thor's thundering voice startles you.

For once he doesn't just sound loud and threatening. He looks the part too. Anger is written all over him. Anger directed towards you.

Oh god! You had forgotten all about the little chat you had with him right before he left for Asgard. Clearly his memory was sharp as ever.

"Hi!" You say, suddenly out of breath. And step back to avoid him coming into your personal space, for which he clearly had no regards. Your back hits Loki's door and you take a step to the side. Keeping your back to the wall and your eyes to him you start inching towards your room.

"Is that how you did it? Made Loki listen to you. Be in your presence. By using your wretched powers." He walks towards you as one walks towards a prey. Ready to attack.

Loki's door opens but you dare not look towards him.

"No. The only time I used my powers on him was when the Avengers requested it. When you yourself wanted me to." You try and tell him calmly it sounds angry and sad at the same time. That combination of emotions existed?

"Lies." That single word was your undoing. Tears come rushing to your eyes. You love Thor like a brother. He was your go-to person the spies were on a mission and Loki was unavailable, to have him accuse you of something you so clearly hadn't done breaks you.

"He was having a panic attack at the thought of returning, you moron." A tear makes its way down your cheek as you scream at Thor.

Behind you, Loki says your name, so softly you barely hear him.

You walk towards him. Self preservation skills going right out of the window.
"If you had stayed a moment longer. Or even bothered to look at your brother. You would have known it. He was crying. And-"

"He cannot run forever. He must face his fears like-"

"Fears? Oh Thor, both him and I wish no one ever sees what he has seen. You have no idea-"
