Sorry that this is so short but at least it is something. Right?
They were back in the infirmary. Sarah was sitting on the exam table looking very awkward. Especially because her bright red dress was dangling to the ground showing her shins and shoes when she leaned back.
"So..." Sarah said.
"Should I leave. I really think I should leave," Zoi said. She could probably feel the tension and awkwardness in the room as well.
"No!" Julian practically screamed. She did not want to be in the room with Sarah if she was awake.
"Um.." Sarah had a weird look on her face as she spoke.
Julian approached her as if she were a wild animal without knowing the reason. Both of them were very tense and Zoi was looking away. Later in the examination, both of them started to relax. Zoi went to the bathroom, leaving them alone for a few minutes. Julian would have thought that it would have gotten more awkward once Zoi left but the opposite was true, at least for him. Zoi being his ex probably had not softened the tension in the room before.
The examination was now over and Zoi still was not back. Julian started looking at Sarah. Then he thought that his actions were weird. For all he knew she had a significant other or something. He made himself promise that no matter how much he ended up liking her, they would have to become real friends and stay friends for at least six months.
He wondered how long he could make that promise last.
As I said it was very short but also very important. I think.
