This is the first chapter of the second book

Sarah groaned as she tried and failed to sit up. She could barely open her eyes, let alone use her core. Once she was able to open her eyes she did. Two sets of eyes greeted her as she did so. One was a blinding blue and the other was teal.

"Hi!" Said the teal pair of eyes with enthusiasm.

"Hello to you too!" Sarah responded with some sarcasm, as she tried to sit up.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you," the blue eyes said.

"Well you're not me Julian are you?" Sarah said with defiance. Then she promptly fell back on her bed after failing to sit up.

"Are you ok?" Julian asked while laughing his head off.

"If you count wanting to kill both of you as alright then yeah I'm peachy," she retorted.

"Oh, come on now Julian you have one of the most powerful demigods in the world angry at you. What did you do to deserve that?" A new voice questioned Juilan.

"I'm not angry at him, I'm angry at Sammy," Sarah stated.

"Hey!"

"You're the one who knocked me out!" Sarah reminded Sammy.

"She does have a point," the others in the room agreed.

"We were training!" he tried to argue.

"I wasn't ready," Sarah shot back.

"Everybody needs to calm down. Now!" A stern voice entered the fray and everyone got quiet.

"So Gabe, whose side are you on?" Sammy asked. Sarah had managed to sit up with the help of Julian and Zoi at this point and was ready to watch the chaos unfold. Gabriel was glaring at Sammy.

"Now I'm on Sarah's side." Gabriel teased.

"That's not fair." Sammy argued.

"It is fair!" Sarah argued back. Zoi and Julian were laughing in the background at the ridiculous trio that were somehow the three most powerful demigods in the world. The ones that were fated... Sarah didn't finish the thought. She didn't want to finish the thought.

"Come on you three, we should probably head to lunch now!" Zoi suggested.

Instead of heading to the dining hall like most people were, they took the elevator to the 450th floor. That was the planning floor, the one that most people used to plan quests and battle strategies and such. The reason they were heading there was for neither purpose specifically but, also to plan and strategize at the same time. They had been having lunch there for the past month.

They got out of the elevator and sat down at one of the tables. Their food magically appeared on the plates in front of them. They had started to eat here and had started to change so many parts of their lives two months after... Sarah again didn't want to finish the thought.

They continued to eat in silence for a while until Sammy spoke. It was always Sammy who would start the conversation.

"So... it is the weekend, what are we going to do?" he asked the table.

"I think we should continue training. We don't know when that prophecy is for and the reason for it could make itself known any day now," said Gabriel.

"You've been saying that for months," Sarah argued.

"She is right," Zoi agreed.

"Well then, what do you suggest we do?"

"I was thinking we could do some research in the field." Sarah suggested.

"What do you mean by that?" Gabriel was obviously confused.

"Well I mean that it has been a while since any of us were out in the real world and even then the people who were out there the most recently never really traveled. I mean we should do some reconnaissance; get the lay of the land."

"I do see your point." Sarah knew there was going to be a but coming. "But, I think it will be best if we stick to doing research from inside of the school's property for the moment." Sarah rolled her eyes at her eldest cousin. He was so overprotective of everyone. Especially her and Sammy. Sarah got the fact that they were the only real family the three of them had but still. They weren't even really biologically related.

The five of them continued to plan for the inevitable quest and do research. But, this having been Sarah's schedule for the past month made her become very bored in a few minutes.

Once dinner rolled around they decided to go to the dining hall for it. As they were walking into the room, everyone grew quiet. It had been a while since any of the five of them had gone to their regularly scheduled classes let alone showed up to a meal.

They went to the seats and there seemed to be an agreement to leave them alone. For the moment. That could always change.

After dinner the five went back to training. Julian only observed the foursome and practiced archery. There was no way that he would have been able to hold his own against any of the others. He had confided in Sarah that he thought that the only reason he would be on this quest was because he was one of the best medics. Sarah had tried to argue that there were other reasons but it was obvious that he didn't believe her. Sarah was sad about this for two reasons. One, that he didn't believe her and that Julian would think that Sarah would lie to him about something like this. The other reason was because Julian thought he was worthless especially in battle. Sarah knew better than that. He was an amazing archer as well as battlefield medic. The school would get attacked by monsters every once in a while and he had proven his worth time and time again. Besides he was such a good friend Sarah was thankful that he would be coming. The other four, including herself, could get a little out of hand with the power they possessed and Julian was always there for any of them to bring them back to their senses.

Training was finally over and they all went back up to their rooms. They all helped out Zoi and Julian with their rounds, as per tradition, then dropped them off by their rooms. The next stop was Sarah's room where her cousins left her.

As Sarah walked into her room, she started to get ready for bed. She put her pajamas on and went to brush her teeth.

Once she was done with that, she started to get under the covers. Then she noticed something that she could have sworn wasn't there a second ago. It was an envelope.

The slightly yellowed paper was sealed shut with a red wax seal. It had her name as well as the names of her friends on it in blood red ink. For all Sarah knew it was blood. It reeked of death and she knew exactly who it had come from.

"Father," she muttered under her breath as she went to put some clothes back on.
