She was standing on a small knoll above some rocks and beyond the rocks was the sea. She turned in a circle to see a bustling village center. With horse drawn carts and wagons with canvas stretched over the metal frames.
She looked down at her outfit to see a lovely light purple, almost lilac cloud dress with lots of ruffles. It was quite gorgeous. She could not see her shoes though she tried to look at them. Then she heard a voice.
"What are you doing? You look ridiculous,"said a man dressed in a stereotypical settler outfit.
"Uh..ummm," She said, not knowing how to respond.
"Ahh. I see you are not yourself today is that right my dearest." The man had a strange smile on his face as he said the words. "I mean, I can't blame you. Even I am anxious today. For today is our wedding day."
She did not know how to respond to this. She was getting married to this man. Today! This man she had met mere seconds ago.
"I," She started. "Am getting married to you!? Today?!" She was in complete and utter shock.
"Yes my dear. You have known this for months."
"What are you talking about!? I met you two minutes ago!" She was starting to get worried now.
"Are you feeling alright? Do you want to lie down? We can postpone the wedding."
"I am not getting married to you."
All of a sudden, the world shifted 'round her. She felt as if she could see the progression of time. The village was getting attacked. Then it was over and she was speeding into the future.
Present day. Now, she was standing where she was in the beginning on the knoll, but the place was older. She could tell time had passed and a lot of it.
She turned to see a museum that looked very modern with a bunch of windows.
All of a sudden, the sea started churning and the small waves started to escalate into mini tsunamis. A storm was on the way.
Lightning and waves accompanied by deafening thunder were all around her. Then some of the windows broke from the building that she assumed was a museum. Skeletal warriors armed with old weapons like bows, daggers, swords, as well as an assortment of other weaponry. A large number of similarly armed skeletal warriors rose from the ground almost everywhere creating cracks and crevasses in the ground.
Now she could sense the time shifting around her as well.
Then she realized that all of these things were aimed at her.
The next second did not happen. Time had frozen. She could see the skeletal warriors trying to fight free to no avail. Though time was still she could move surprisingly well.
She heard a scream and was wondering where it came from until she realized it had come from her.
Sarah woke up in a cold sweat worrying about the nightmare she had. But most of all wondering if it was real. Was that dream fact or fiction?
