What was a normal day Sarah didn't know. Not even at her old school had she had anything like what someone would call a normal day. But, Mr. O had said that today would be a normal day for her. It was a Monday so she was thankfully not starting her first day of school in the middle of the week.
Her alarm went off at 6:30 and she felt very rested. It was as if she had slept in because she used to wake up at 6:00 on the dot. She got out of bed and headed over to her closet. She picked out a black dress that looked like the dress she wore yesterday besides the color. She winced at it for a moment then remembered the letter from her father she had put on her bedside table.
After getting ready for the day Sarah looked at her schedule. It was 6:50 so Sarah went to the elevator. Julian and Zoi were already there so she decided to take an elevator with them to the dining hall; she still was not exactly sure where it was anyway.
"How did you sleep last night?" Zoi asked, looking sympathetic. "I know how hard it can be sleeping in a new place or bed for the first time."
"I slept great actually, thanks for asking."
At this point they were in the dining hall. It seemed like it had not taken too long but she looked down at her watch and noticed that it was 7.
She had an amazing breakfast of something that tasted good but certainly did not look like it. It looked like some sludge or something but it tasted amazing.
Then it was time for the first period.
"Math!" Sarah said half enthusiastically.
"Me too!" Zoi said, which lightened Sarah's mood. "There is only one math teacher so you must have it with me."
"Nice," she said, not sarcastically this time.
"Are you in Geometry?" Julian asked me.
"Yep!" Sarah responded.
"Ok not a lot of us are you and Zoi are part of the lucky two," Julian continued.
"Lucky is one way of putting it."
"What is it hard?" Sarah asked.
"Not really but I'm one of 5 people and the rest are boys," Zoi said.
"Uh... Well at least you will have me now," Sarah said.
"Yeah, good point," Zoi said and seemed not to be as moody about her math class.
"Well if you two geniuses are done talking this is where I leave you." Julian stormed off the elevator at that very moment for dramatic effect.
"Does he do that a lot?" Sarah asked Zoi.
"Yah and it gets very annoying," She said.
"Well this is where we get off."
"Nice. this is a normal day."
"Unfortunately," Zoi said as they walked into the classroom.
"Hello, class. Today we have a new student. Her name is Sarah." Sarah was sitting toward the back of the classroom with Zoi.
"Will you please stand up for the class," the teacher, Ms. Arrow said. Sarah did not know why she was one of six students in the class and it was obvious that she was the new student. Sarah suspected that she would be getting a lot of that today.
The topic that they were learning about in math was something she had already done so she was not paying attention.
The bell rang and Sarah followed Zoi to their ELA class which they also had together. It was down the hall and they had to wait outside for their teacher since they had 10 minutes to get to each class and it had taken them about 30 seconds to get down the hall and to the classroom.
