Yay!!!! We are now starting to get to the existing part! The parts will continue to get shorter but we are almost at the end.
Julian and Zoi had just left Sarah alone with her father.
"I have news for you." As Hades spoke, tendrils of darkness swirled around the room. To the average person it would have probably been rather unsettling but to Sarah it was the opposite. The darkness and feeling of death was a comfort and that fact scared Sarah. The fact that she felt so comfortable with death scared her.
"Father, what is your news?" Sarah had no idea where her words were coming from and how she was so confident. In a few days she had grown into her role as the daughter of Hades and she was uncomfortable by that fact. Part of her reason for feeling so uncomfortable was because she had no idea what she was doing but knew she looked like she did.
"You are growing into your role as my daughter and while you are doing that, you are also..." Hades looked like he didn't know how to say the words. "You are growing into my heir. The heir of the underworld. Much like how your cousins are growing into their father's roles, you are too. Before now, none of you knew this and by the end of the night I hope all of you will. Each of you will continue your lives as demigods but once you die you will be turned into gods and each help your respective father. That is why you must go to this school and do the things you do." Sarah knew he was referring to the clothing she had too wear.
"This should not change anything but I figured the three of you deserve the right to know your destiny. This has been prophesied for a while."
"Are you allowed to tell us or me the prophecy?"
"Yes. This is it." Hades pulled out a piece of paper, handed it to her and vanished.
After her conversion with everyone else they all continued their night and went to bed. Sarah had decided to leave the conversation about what had happened for the following morning.
"So, now that we are all here, Sarah, spill the beans about what happened last night." Julian fixed her with a glare as he said the words but not a mean glare, the kind of glare that ment "do what I told you to do without hesitation or there will be consequences." Sarah internally dubbed it his doctor glare, assuming that he had to use it on a number of patients before. She possibly was included in that number because of the time she had spent in the infirmary.
Sarah weighed her options and decided to tell the group of four everything(not including herself in that number.)
"So do you have the note with you?" Sammy asked with a mouth full of eggs.
"Yess." As Sarah was speaking she brought the note out. She had informed them that she had not seen the note yet so she laid it out on the table for everyone to see for the first time. The note was directly in front of Sarah with Sammy and Gabriel on either side. Julian and Zoi were opposite them with the worst view because the prophecy did not affect them directly. The plain parchment that helped her destiny read as follows:
From the three most famous gods,
There shall be three demigods.
One from storms of thunder and rain,
One from the water with currents untamed.
Then there will be a final one
From death and darkness and such.
A powerful one like the other two, but she shall be last to come.
These three demigods shall live their lives.
Many parts to be prophesised.
But once they're dead, gone forever.
They shall come back stronger than ever.
Once they were all done reading no one knew what to say.
Well besides Sammy of course "Did I... read that right?" He questioned the entire group.
"I do believe you did," Sarah responded. Everyone was still in shock.
The bell rang and everyone had what Sarah supposed was to be considered by a typical person a normal day. It went by so fast. Sarah was completely zoned out in most of her classes. In her fighting class she got nicked and spent the rest of it being lectured by Mr. Summer about paying attention in a fight. Sarah hardly paid attention to that conversation still not knowing what to do. She completely cracked up when he told her that she might die.
"Sarah," Mr. Summer said in a stern tone.
Julian walked up to Sarah and Mr. Summer.
"Julian, you are not involved in this conversation."
"Well with all do respect, Sir, I am training to be a doctor and Sarah is injured at the moment." Julian tried to rescue Sarah from her conversation.
"Sarah was laughing at the fact that she could die in battle. She must be more careful."
"Oh." Was his response, looking rather guilty while he delivered it. He then shot a glance toward Sarah.
"Do you want to tell him?" was Julian's silent question. The body language he used was unmistakable.
"No. Not yet," was her response, still silent.
"Please have your conversation aloud in my classroom." Mr. Summer was still Sarah's favorite teacher but he was starting to get on her nerves.
"Mr. Summer," Julian started, "Sarah has gotten a prophecy with some other students," He got a death glare from Sarah, "and she is still in shock from that."
"I see," was Mr. Summers only verbal response. However, Sarah could see sympathy in his eyes. He clearly felt bad for her and Sarah nodded, presenting him with a silent "thank you."
The rest of the day flew by. At dinner Julian and Zoi tried to start a conversation but it didn't work. Sarah didn't know how to feel. She was practically immortal now.
"Guy's," Zoi interrupted Sarah's train of thought. "You guys need to remember the two lines 'These three demigods shall live their lives/Many parts to be prophesied' that means that you will survive a while then die and..." She didn't finish the thought and Sarah was glad of that.
"But also remember not to read too deeply into the prophecy lines. That never ends well." Julian chimed in.
The group of three decided to listen to their friends. For the moment.
Thank you for reading and doing whatever you are doing!
