Lindsey got back into town a few days later and even though it wasn't a long trip, it always feels that way when you're newly in love with someone. So Stevie met him at the airport when he landed, they got a taxi back to the Inn, ate a late dinner at a restaurant down the street and then walked back, even stopping for ice cream on the way... It was sweet and romantic, really making her feel young, which didn't happen too often anymore.

However, even though they had chatted about everything and anything- she even mentioned that she'd talked to her husband about a divorce, but she didn't tell him about the baby.

She knew that it was early, not only in her pregnancy but also in their relationship, so it was scary... She didn't want him to be upset about it, even though she didn't really think he would be.

She just knew that it would be a surprise.

Anyway, she was able to push it to the very back of her mind, until she'd found herself laying on her tummy in bed, chin resting in her hand as she stared down at Lindsey, who was half asleep. They were talking about work- he was telling her all about a new artist that had signed on at the studio while he'd been away, and even though she was very interested, her thoughts had begun to wander.

"Lindsey..." her voice was soft, speaking up after a moment of comfortable silence had come and gone.

With a gentle smile, his eyes traveled up to hers. "Stevie..." he whispered back in a teasing manner as he stayed on his back- one arm tucked between his head and the pillow as he used the other hand to play with some of her blonde stands.

She giggled lightly, leaning down to press her lips to his forehead. "You like me, right?" She whispered with a little grin tugging at the corners of her mouth.

He chuckled lightly, nodding his head. "I think it's a little more serious than just liking you." Lindsey admitted with the softest set of blue eyes.

Biting down on her bottom lip, she nodded as her eyes fell closed for a second. "I have a secret..." her voice was so quiet and light- trying her best not to get too excited too fast... She wanted to see his reaction first.

Smirking lightly, he tilted his head to the side to look at her through the dark bedroom a little better. "I'm a super duper good secret keeper." He assured with a playful little wink, trying to make her feel better... He could tell something had been on her mind all night, even though she was trying awfully hard to hide it.

She sucked in her lips, cheeks turning a light shade of red as her heart began to race. "Oh, Lindsey." Without any warning, she dropped her arms and let her face hit the pillow, causing him jolt.

Creasing a brow, he lifted his head up to look down at her, listening to her mumble something into the pillow in such a muffled way, he had no clue what she said. "Baby, I can't hear you." Lindsey couldn't help but let out a soft laugh, not sure what was going on.

"I'm pregnant." She repeated as she finally turned her head to the side and looked back over at him.

Lindsey paused a second, eyes scanning over her facial features as he took just a moment to process that. "Pregnant?" He whispered, heart also pounding in his chest instantly.

Surprised might have been an understatement... He was shocked.

Nodding her head, she started to sit up on her elbows once more, so nervous, she felt like she was going to get sick. "I'm so sorry, I just-"

"Hey," he cut her off instantly, shaking his head as he started to sit up as well.

He could tell by the tone in her voice that she was suddenly very overwhelmed and that wasn't what he intended... Not at all, but he was also little taken aback.

Who wouldn't be though?

"You have nothing be sorry for, baby." Once he was sitting up, he reached out for her to do the same... He wanted to hold her and she needed to be held. "Okay?" The second he wrapped her up in the safety of his arms, she sank right in, immediately starting to feel a little bit better than before.

Sighing lightly, she felt the tears lingering in her orbs as she snuggled her face into the crook of his neck. "I know it's really soon." She admitted as her eyes began to grow heavy from the built up emotion. "And I don't want this to ruin anything." Stevie was reluctant to say that, considering how excited she was, but she also knew that wasn't ideal either.

The future was up in the air, but she totally certain of one thing- she was having a baby and she wasn't going to be anything short of a wonderful mother.

Lindsey grew quiet for a second, combing his fingers through the back of her hair as he kept his other hand wrapped around her. "Nothing is ever really guaranteed..." he lingered, kissing her temple softly. "But I know, for sure, that I'm really happy and really in love." He was being honest and also trying to make her feel better... "And raising kids isn't always that easy, but with you, I'm know it'll be perfect." He was nervous, but he was excited and that really outweighed everything else.

It was soon, but that didn't mean much to him... He had already had a very similar experience once before.

She let out a deep, very relieved sigh as she finally looked back up to see those blue storms looking down. "You're sure that you're okay with this?" She wondered, gaze dropping down to his lips as she tried her best not to kiss him... She was so tempted.

He chuckled lightly, bringing one hand up to her face to hold her chin as he admired every inch. "I can't think of anything that I want more than this, with you." He assured as he slowly leaned in to press his lips to hers. "It'll be great."
