### Chapter 8: The Vineyard
Yn stared at Jin, who seemed lost in thought, his eyes distant. She gently pressed him to continue.
"Yuna and I dated for three long years," Jin began, his voice low. "We got engaged, but it didn't last more than a month. She found someone else. She... she cheated on me."
Yn reached out and placed her hand on his arm, offering a comforting touch. "I'm so sorry, Jin. You didn't deserve that."
Jin sighed, the weight of his past evident. "Thank you, Yn. I appreciate it. Let's focus on something more positive. How about I take you to our vineyard and the records hall for your research?"
Later that afternoon, they arrived at the sprawling vineyard. The rows of grapevines stretched as far as the eye could see, the rich green leaves swaying gently in the breeze. The air was filled with the sweet scent of ripening grapes, and the soft hum of bees busy at work.
"This place is beautiful," Yn remarked, taking in the serene landscape.
"It is," Jin agreed, a small smile playing on his lips. "My family has been producing wine here for generations. It's one of our proudest traditions."
They made their way to the records hall, an old, stately building nestled at the edge of the vineyard. Inside, the walls were lined with shelves full of ledgers, documents, and various records detailing the history of the royal family and their estate. Jin left Yn to her research while he attended to the workers in the vineyard.
Yn delved into the records, meticulously taking notes. As she rifled through a stack of old letters, one in particular caught her eye. Unlike the previous letters, this one had names: Taehyung and Jessica.
The letter read:
Dear Jessica
Every moment I spend away from you feels like an eternity. My heart aches to be with you, to feel your love that transcends the boundaries of our worlds. My wife, though noble, cares only for my status and what it brings her. There is no warmth in her gaze, no tenderness in her touch. She sees me as a means to an end, nothing more.
But you, Jessica, you see me for who I truly am. You love me for my heart, my soul. When I am with you, I feel alive, cherished. You are my refuge, my sanctuary.
I long for the day when we can be together without fear, without hiding. Until then, know that my love for you is unwavering and eternal.**
Yours forever,
TaehyungYn carefully noted the details and wrapped up her research. She found Jin outside, discussing harvest plans with the vineyard workers. Once he finished, they headed back to the palace.
On the journey back, Jin's phone rang. He glanced at the screen and frowned. "It's my grandparents. We need to go to them immediately."
They arrived at the main hall where Jin's grandmother, Hae Won, was waiting with a stern expression. "You both should get engaged tomorrow," she announced abruptly.
Both Jin and Yn were taken aback. "Tomorrow?" Jin echoed, shocked.
"Why so soon?" Yn asked, her heart pounding.
Hae Won's gaze softened slightly as she looked at Yn. "We need to ensure that this relationship is solid and genuine. Our family cannot afford another scandal. Do you understand?"
Jin nodded slowly, his mind racing. "Yes, grandmother. We understand."
Yn looked at Jin, searching for reassurance. He squeezed her hand gently. "We'll get through this together," he whispered.
The gravity of the situation settled over them as they left the hall. Tomorrow, they would have to convince everyone-including themselves-that their engagement was real.
