The Angel's Initiative. A unit of elite female agents with extraordinary skills. This idea was first brought up by Agent Peggy Carter, who believed that women made the best undercover spies because they were often underestimated by their enemies. She believed that if you gathered a group of women that displayed great strength in the eyes of danger, they could take over the world without anyone even realizing.
The Angel's initiative started in 2010 with it's first member Cassandra Carter, one of SHIELD's best field agents who always displayed extraordinary results on her missions. Days later, the nine-year-old Aurora Sāto became the second person to be recruited into the group. The two succeeded on their first undercover mission, apprehending a corrupt Politician working for HYDRA.
The two young agents completed two other missions before their next members, Alina Petrova and Amara Díaz were inducted. The two new angels had worked with each other many times before and fit in perfectly with the group. The four girls showed undeniable teamwork in their early missions, making a name for themselves within SHIELD.
Next, SHIELD inducted two women from their labs, Moon Aeri and Corrine Pruitt. An engineer, computer tech and a chemist, biology expert. Aeri became the group's 'overseer' and guide, using her expert computer and hacking skills to watch over the team's safety while Corrine was the medic and was often fighting in the field.
After the events of Ultron, Cassandra stepped down from her role as leader of the angels and 'retired' from SHIELD. The very next day, Tony Stark pulled Aurora from the program as well. The rest of the group remains active to this day and SHIELD is continuing their search for new members of this elite group of women.
