THE NEXT DAY...

Dinner was done and everyone had retreated to their rooms, well, except my husband.

He didn't come back to our room with me, he was so busy all the time, working on God knows what.

I changed into my pyjamas and decided to put on a face mask that I brought yesterday.

I picked it out along with a lip mask and put both on after cleaning my face.

Only my nostrils and eyes were uncovered, the rest of my face was covered by a white, wet mask enveloped everything.

As I came out of the bathroom, the bedroom door was slammed open and Aly entered inside.

"Aunty--"

She gasped when she saw me, her eyes widening with terror. "A ghost!"

I tried telling her that it was me but I had the freaking lip mask on and I couldn't speak.

I stepped forward but she shrieked. "A ghost!"

Then she was running out of there, shouting, "Aunty turned into a ghost!"

Wow, maybe I should have locked the door before putting this on.

A minute passed by and I could hear Aly again as she said to someone, "You have to save her, the ghost has taken over her."

Kian entered the room with a panicked Aly in his arms. She pointed at me. "See! Aunty turned into a ghost."

Kian's lips twitched. "I suppose she has."

I just know I must be looking utterly ridiculous if it made him look amused.

Kian whispered something to her and she nodded making him put her down on the floor and she ran away.

He came further inside the room and closed the door, locking it.

I folded my hands and glared at him.

"Nothing to say?" He mocked, moving closer to me and slowly shrugged off his suit jacket.

He draped it over his forearm neatly. "No random stories to tell me today?"

He sounded so fucking amused, he seemed to be enjoying himself. He glanced towards the bed over my shoulder. "Your teddy looks lonely tonight, why aren't you talking to him?"

I glared at him even harder and stepped forward, swinging my hand out and giving him a shove.

"Poor Irene", he drawled coming even closer, eyes glinting mischievously. "If I knew shutting you up was so simple, I would have bought you thousands of these."

His fingertip brushed my lip mask making my breath hitch.

And damn, my name sounded so good when he said it like that.

I grabbed his hand and tried twisting it a bit but I don't know what the hell he eats to have such strong muscles, his hand didn't even move.

He put his hand down. "I suggest you keep this on for the entire night. I'll have a peaceful sleep."
