Hot shot was soon going to start chemotherapy. Hot shot was a bit nervous about it but ready to be brave. Hot shot was even watching the video about chemotherapy from the imaginary friend society. Hot shot learned many kids get nervous and that is okay to feel that. He should remember that chemotherapy is a very important medicine that can help him in the long run. Chemotherapy destroys cancer cells and stops their growth. Chemotherapy comes in many forms to stop cancer, but is normally given by IV, or by central line, or by pill. Chemotherapy will give him an upset stomach but he will be given medicine by his doctors to make him feel better. Hot shot learned that how quickly that the rest of his hair will fall out will be different from other people. Hot shot learned that he would also feel very tired after chemotherapy too. Hot shot even watched the video on hair loss. Hot shot learned that how quickly and how it happens is different for everyone. He could only lose a little hair from treatment like he did from radiation. Hot shot only pretty much had light shedding for the radiation and was still finding hair in his hair brush and when his parents wash his hair.  But there was a chance the he could lose more of it. Hot shot learned of all things he could try from hats, to wigs, to just being himself from hair loss. Hot shot was glad to know about this stuff. It made him feel so much better. Hot shot was aware that he was going to have a long battle a head of him.

Hot shot was helping his parents pack a bag. It was going to be Hot shot's go bag. "Hot shot sometimes you might have to go to the hospital if you have an emergency," Quickshadow said. "Other times you might need to stay after you have surgery or another treatment if there are problems after receiving the medicine or trying to give you medicine," she said. "You might also have planned stays to have treatments and might stay there for a while," she said. "Sometimes it is also for observation as well, these things will help the doctors get an idea of how you are doing and how they can help you," she said.

"Okay," Hot shot said. "But I don't like sleeping away from home unless it is at granny's or grandmum's because I know those places better than the hospital," he said.

"I can understand that," Quickshadow said.

Hot shot watched the video about long hospital stays from the imaginary friend society. He learned to pack things to make him feel comfortable and not be bored. He learned that even though the hospital will not be the same as home it will help if he brings what he wants and needs to make it feel like home. Hot shot felt much better after watching that.

Heatwave came back from getting the door. "Hot shot there are a couple of packages for you!" Heatwave said.

"For me?" Hot shot said.

"Yes one is from granny and pawpaw, and the other is from grandmum and grandad," Heatwave said.

Hot shot opened the packages and he looked inside. In the package from granny and pawpaw there were a few beanie hats that had been bought from a store two were Pokemon themed, and there were three in solid color and one with stripes. Hot shot was happy to see them. There was also a plush Mudkip and some sour gummy candy his favorite. Hot shot even found a coloring book in there too.

In the package from his grandmum and grandad there were a few beanies that had been hand knit. His grandmum was great at knitting. Two were solid color, two had stripes, one had polka dots, and one had stars. Hot shot liked these beanies too. There was a plush black jaguar and coloring book.

"Wow," Hot shot said. "Neato," he said.

"It was nice of them to send this stuff," Quickshadow said.

"Can I bring some of my new hats?" Hot shot asked.

"Of course you can," Heatwave said.

Hot shot was going to have a planned stay at the hospital. Hot shot was going to stay for four months in the hospital starting in November when he starts chemotherapy. Hot shot wasn't too happy that he will have to spend the holidays in the hospital. Hot shot was going to have to get used to the idea.

Hot shot packed up his things with his parents. Hot shot made sure to pack Roxy the rhino. Hot shot also packed his new Mudkip plush, his new black jaguar plush and his plush Pikachu. Hot shot also packed his favorite soft blanket which was hand knit by his mother for his fifth birthday. It was yellow with a fire truck on it. Hot shot also packed his pillow. He packed his rhino slippers. He packed his tablet and charger. He packed his coloring books old and new, he packed his crayons. He packed his night light. He packed lots of comfy pjs and clothes. He packed a few pairs of socks and underwear. He packed a couple of pairs of comfy shoes. He packed a photo of him with his parents. He also packed his toothbrush too. Finally he added the hats his grandparents gave him.

"Okay now we are all packed," Heatwave said.

Hot shot made sure to get Roxy out so he could hold her on the way to the hospital. He grabbed her before Heatwave zipped up the bag. Hot shot made sure to go potty before leaving. His parents made a listen of his medications. Now they were getting ready to get going. Hot shot was plenty nervous about this. Hot shot knew other than getting chemotherapy while he was there he was also going to have more surgery too. Hot shot was a nervous and scared which was completely fair. But Hot shot was going to be brave and ready to do it too.

Hot shot and his parents got into the car and headed to the hospital. Hot shot was watching things going by. Hot shot liked to watch things as they passed in the car. Then they made it to Cook Children's hospital. As soon as Hot shot saw Peaks the dragon he waved at him. Hot shot liked to wave at Peaks as the arrived at or left the hospital. It made him feel a bit better to do so.

Then they went inside. Hot shot was checked in at the front desk. Then Hot shot got a hospital bracelet. The bracelet had his name, what was wrong with him, where in the hospital he was staying, who is doctor was, and his home information. Hot shot's parents also had to wear bracelets too. Hot shot was soon taken to the oncology ward.

Hot shot was soon going to settle into his room. Hot shot saw his friends were there. "Hi guys," Hot shot said.

"Hi Hot shot," they said.

"I am going to be here for four months," Hot shot said.

"Me too," Hoist said.

"Same here," Medix said.

"I am too," Whirl said.

"As am I," Wedge said.

"I am as well," Scorch said.

"I am also doing that too," Brushfire said.

"Me as well," Override said.

Hot shot was happy that his friends were also going to be staying as long as he was. Now it was time to be brave not just for a long hospital stay. But also to start chemotherapy and continue the fight against the cancer fire.
