We last read Chapter 23, in which Lord Balfort Ladair discovers a way to defeat Virulis's blood warriors for good after an encounter with one of them in which he simply "drains" the entire creature of its blood.....and since the entirety of its body is blood, this essentially spells its doom in the process. Using this knowledge, he springs into action to save most of his other family members—Agnes's steward, Agnes, Lady Amber Ladair, Lily Ladair, and Theo Ladair, as well as Lily and Theo's companion the Talking Skull—from even more of the Virulis-model blood warriors by intervening and draining the creatures before they can get to them, though the black sedan is tipped on its right side in the process. Balfort then informs the others about how to drain the blood warriors to defeat them completely, at which point he orders them all to disperse and do the same. However, a sudden realization hits the royal family: Mavis Ladair a.k.a. Red Fang, Balfort's youngest daughter, is not with them.

This time, Mavis Ladair a.k.a. Red Fang is cornered by Prince Boripedes and tries one more time to get him to back down, with the rest of her family and friends swiftly approaching.....

Prince Boripedes, with his spell book continuing to float menacingly at his left side, remained as dogged as ever in his pursuit of his niece. He shaped his thumbs and pointer fingers into the shape of a triangle, with the fleeing Mavis Ladair a.k.a. Red Fang directly in the "center". Then, he split apart the digits, and a large translucent purple sphere shot forward, going at a much faster pace than Red Fang was running and, in fact, actually passed through her. However, the goal was not necessarily to keep up with Red Fang; in reality, the act of the sphere touching her caused her to start feeling incredibly fatigued and weakened, and her steps slowed down as she struggled to catch her breath.

"The Weakening Sphere," Boripedes taunted. "Just one of the many tools which I now wield against you."

Panting heavily, Red Fang eventually came to a complete stop and was forced to lean against a large rock to save what remained of her energy.

Prince Boripedes menacingly approached her from the front, and a squad of four trident-wielding Virulis-model blood warriors—two on his left and two on his right—prevented Red Fang from quickly darting away on either side of Boripedes.

Red Fang was now trapped.

"You....." she gasped through her irregular breathing. "Why do you even want the Bloodstone, anyway.....?"

"We've already established that. Revenge."

"What kind of 'revenge' is this.....?" the vampiric superheroine pressed. "You have been taking away everyone's individuality."

"Explain."

"A world where everyone looks the same, acts the same, and sounds the same? Boripedes.....that's not harmony. That's misery."

"Hmph. You really want to die, don't you?"

"Do whatever you want to me....." she conceded. "But what you have failed to learn is this: our strengths lie not in our similarities.....but in our differences. Our ability to each bring something unique to the table, while still remaining united through it all.....that's what makes us special. It's called diversity.....and the humans are quite the same."
