Chapter 4

(Evelyn Pov)

*BEEP BEEP BEEP*

I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock. Checking the time, I saw it was 6 AM. "I'm a little early today!, but more time to get ready!" I thought. After getting ready, Dylan opened my door. "Evelyn, come on, we're gonna be late!" Dylan said. I checked the time again. It was 7:45 AM. I had been getting ready for almost 2 hours! Damn. I hurriedly grabbed a granola bar, shoved it in my backpack, and said goodbye to my Mom and Dad. As I headed outside, I saw Thomas

"What are you doing here?" I asked, puzzled.

"I'm picking you up" Thomas said.

"Picking me up? But Dylan's here" I replied, even more confused.

"No more questions Evelyn. Get in the car!" Dylan said in a rush. I climbed into the car without further questions. I stayed quiet the whole ride, since I was on my phone. The drive to school took 24 minutes, making us late.

As I walked into my science class, I muttered under my breath, "Oh shit!" My science teacher is really strict; if we were late, it meant detention. I entered the classroom, everyone stared at me.

"Hello, Ms. O'Brien. Your late," My science teacher said, then added "And Mr. Sangster" I turned around in surprise to see Thomas. Wait, he's in my science class? I hadn't known that.

"Detention now!" my science teacher shouted.

"So, you're in my science class too?" I said to Thomas as we walked to detention.

"Yeah we have the same schedule, honestly" Thomas replied.

"What? How'd you know that?" I asked, genuinely surprised.

"Well, because you're in my classes every single time" he said, looking at me. "Guess you don't pay attention" Thomas said with a smirk.

"Yeah, I guess you're right" I admitted it, feeling a bit embarrassed. I usually paid attention to the lessons and my friends rather than my classmates. We got inside the detention room, and it was awkward at first. Then Thomas suddenly asked me,

"Well, we're stuck here for an hour, what do you want to do?" Thomas asked.

"Well, I guess get to know each other?" I said, looking into his chocolate brown eyes, then breaking the eye contact.

"Sure why not," he said. He asked me a lot of questions, and I did the same, Suddenly the bell rang.

"I guess that's it. See you next class" I said, smiling at him and waving goodbye. I told Kaya everything that happened, and she was smiling too.

"Girl, you probably have a crush on him!" Kaya said, laughing.

"Well, I think so-no, I don't-well, I don't know. I just met him yesterday. I don't know, Kaya" I said looking at the sky.

"Well, I can help you with that if you help me with something," Kaya said, smiling.

"What do you want, Kaya?" I asked, she always does this.

"Set me up on a date with Dylan," Kaya said.

"Sure, I would love to!" I said sarcastically.

"Are you for real?" Kaya looked at me with wide eyes.

"Yeah, why not" I said while nodding.

"OMG, OMG, OMG! Thank you, Evelyn! I Love you so much!" she said, hugging me and kissing me on the cheeks.

"I'll text you later" I said, waving goodbye to Kaya. As I head out of the school to grab some snacks, I saw Dylan.

"DYLAN, my lovely brother!" I said, hugging him.

"What do you want?" he asked with an annoyed look.

"I was thinking you would want to go out with Kaya" I said.

"Wait, what? Kaya!" he said happily.

"Yeah why not? She said she needed a boyfriend" I said smiling.

"Omg, thank you, little sister. I'll treat you today" Dylan said, hugging me. I texted Kaya about their date tomorrow and told Dylan about the date too.
