I woke up and realized it was Friday. I checked my phone and saw an email:
from: New York Arts Highschool( i just made it up ):
Hello students, today we don't have school until next week because of Spring Break! Have a good break students!
"Yes! We have spring break!" I exclaimed to myself. But I don't know what to do for a whole week? I'll probably watch movies, hang out with Kaya and James, and read. I changed my clothes, brushed my hair and teeth, and headed outside. Our maids were cleaning the house and cooking breakfast.
"Evelyn, what breakfast do you want?" one of the maids asked.
"Salad, please. Thank you," I replied.
"Salad? But you never eat salad for breakfast. Are you on a diet?" my maid asked, surprised.
"Yes" I said, nodding.
"Okay, Evelyn," she said. After she made my salad, I thanked her and went to the dinner table to sit with my family.
"So, you guys need to dress up nicely tonight. We have a celebration" my dad said. Oh yeah, it's his birthday today.
"Okay, dad" Dylan said.
"You can bring your friends too," my mom added.
"Okay, mom" I said.
"Oh no, I forgot I have a date with Kaya," Dylan said, looking worried.
"What time is your date?" my dad asked.
"6:30" Dylan replied.
"Can you change it to 1PM? The party starts at 5" my dad suggested.
"Sure, I can tell Kaya," I said to dad. "And can I bring Kaya and James tonight?" I asked my parents.
"Oh James! How is he?" my mom asked. I explained that James was fine. He had gone to London because of his family and had recently returned to NYC. I dressed up and headed to James' house to meet up with him and Kaya.

"Kaya, can you and Dylan have your date at 1PM instead? It's my dad's birthday today and the party starts at 5," I said.
"Sure, why not? But we need to get ready, it's 9:30" Kaya said. We dressed up Kaya for her date, and Dylan picked her up from James' house. I told James that the dress code for the party is black and blue accents to match up the dress code. The party was shaping up to be a grand affair, with our house beautifully decorated and catering staff setting up. By 4:30 PM, I was ready and took a moment how everything looked. My parents had really gone all out for this celebration. Guests started arriving soon after, and the buzzed with excitement and chatter and I changed my clothes.
