Chapter 14

( Evelyn Pov )

I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock. Ugh, school again, I said to myself. I got up, washed myself, brushed my teeth, and did a little bit of makeup. After getting ready, I headed downstairs to see Dylan drinking his coffee. Once I finished eating, Dylan and I got in the car, and he started driving. 24 minutes later, we arrived at school.

"Bye Dylan, see you after class" I said as he parked the car

"yeah, bye" he replied. I went inside and headed towards my locker, where I saw James and Kaya.

"Hey, guys, morning" I said

"Morning" James and Kaya said in unison

"So, what's your first class?" I asked

"I have math" Kaya said

"I have Social studies" James added, "How about you Evelyn?"

"I have science" I replied

*ring!*

"Okay, bye guys. See you after class" I said, waving goodbye

"Bye, Evelyn" James and Kaya said. I headed to my classroom so I wouldn't be late and saw an empty spot beside Thomas.

"Hi" I said

"Good Morning Evelyn" Thomas replied. I sat down

"Good morning to you too" I said, smiling at him. Our science teacher came in

"Morning, class. Today we will be learning about microorganisms" I grabbed my notebook and started writing the things my teacher wrote on the board

~time skip~

"Okay, goodbye class. See you next time" my teacher said. My next class was P.E. Kaya, Will, Thomas and I have the same class gym class. I went into the girl's changing room and I saw Kaya

"Hey Kaya, how was math?" I asked

"It sucks" she replied. I just laughed at her. After changing. Kaya and I went into the gym room and saw Will and Thomas

"Hey guys!" I said

"Hey Evelyn and Kaya" Will replied

"Hi Kaya" Thomas said. We sat down in the bleachers to listen to our gym teacher

"Okay class, today we will play basketball" our teacher announced

"No, not basketball" Kaya sighed

"That's okay Kaya, I feel you" I said. As we got up to grab a basketball to warm up, Kaya and I talked about school and other stuff. Suddenly, someone shouted "Heads up, O'Brien!" I looked up to see a basketball flying towards me, and then everything went black.

( Thomas Pov )

I heard someone shouted Evelyn's last name and saw a ball flying towards Evelyn. She passes out, but Kaya caught her. I ran towards them.

"Evelyn wake up!" Kaya said, shaking her, but she didn't respond. "Thomas can you carry Evelyn to the nurse office? I'll tell our teacher she'll be excused" I nodded and started carrying her in a bridal style. I got inside the nurse office and placed her on one of the beds

"Can you tell me what happened to her?" the nurse asked

"A ball hit her head" I said, panting for air

"I'll grab and ice pack. Wait here" the nurse replied. As I waited, Kaya entered the room

"Is she alright?" Kaya asked

"Yeah, the nurse told me to wait" then the nurse finally came back with the ice pack and placed it on the injured area

"What's her name?" the nurse asked
