At Conqueror Rai's Base:
Duke: "You know they're coming, right?"
Rai: "Whom do you speak of, Duke?"
Duke: "You know that monk. He hasn't been seen in two months. You should be getting everyone ready for an attack."
Rai: "Ha, I hope the boy does show up so I can finish what my father started and kill off the Peril Monks once and for all."
Duke: "But what if they find—?"
Rai: "They won't live long enough to discover anything. The heritage of the Peril Monks dies with Leeway."
Chained to the wall, Sensei Dai speaks up.
Dai: "You know he's going to beat you, right?"
Rai: "Oh, please. He couldn't beat me with two years of training, let alone two months. He doesn't even know who he really is. He could never reach the level of power I hold."
Rai sighs.
Rai: "But even if he did, our father already told me who could kill me."
Dai: "What are you talking about?"
Rai: "Oh yeah, you weren't there. If you want to know, father told me the only man who could kill me is the legendary Blue Savior."
Dai: "What? The myth? How is that even possible? Why did father think that, Rai?"
Rai: "You ask a lot of questions, brother. Let me tell you this: the Blue Savior had a rival, Shuka. Blue and Shuka died at the same time, but before Blue died, he said, 'Whenever Shuka's soul returns, so should mine.' And guess who's Shuka."
Dai: "How does father know—?"
Rai: "No more questions. I have unwelcome guests to prepare for."
Rai leaves the room, leaving Dai in the dark.

Meanwhile, Leeway and Mike were back in a familiar place surrounded by trees, looking for something or someone.

"Are you sure he's here?" Mike asked.

"Yes, I can sense him. We're getting close," Leeway replied, turning to a cave. "He's in here."

"You know, it could be a bear with a fuzzy little tail. Either way, I'm not going in there," Mike said nervously.

"Mike, you're too old and well-trained to be scared. Don't you trust me?" Leeway reassured him.

"I trust you always. What I don't trust is that super sense or whatever it's called," Mike admitted.

A big wolf with a sharp prosthetic paw jumped out at them, causing them to jump back. The wolf, recognizing them, ran back into the cave. A man emerged, surprised to see them.

"My god, you're actually alive. What do you need from me? You already beat me and scared my pack. Come to finish the job?" Ōkami asked.

"Ōkami, we're not here to fight you again. We need your help to get to Rai. Someone forgot to ask for directions," Leeway explained.

"You forgot too!" Mike interjected.

"And why would I help you? You've already bested me and scared my pack," Ōkami retorted.

"Because we can make it worth your while. Help us, and we'll consider it your chance to make things right. Besides, do you really want to go through another fight?" Mike offered.

"You know what we're capable of. We don't want to hurt you or your pack any more than we have to. Just take us to Rai, and this ends here," Leeway said firmly.

"Fine, but not because you threaten me. I want to see my master Rai squeeze the life out of you both," Ōkami agreed reluctantly.

"Okay, great. Let's go," Mike said, relieved.

"We're not walking; it'll take forever," Ōkami said, whistling for two wolves to come running. "You can ride them. I'll ride big metal paw over there."

"Sweet, we can rest our legs," Leeway said, mounting the wolf.

Ōkami guided them for a while. As they rode, Mike started asking questions.

"So, you always been a wolf whisperer, or is this a side hobby?" Mike asked.

"You always blow trees up with your arm or only on Tuesdays?" Ōkami retorted.
