I woke up, my eyes stinging from the brightness, orange light streaming in from somewhere. I stirred in my position, letting out an unwanted yawn. Well, I didn't get a lot of sleep. I rolled over, not feeling Eric's presence beside me and sure enough, he wasn't there. I sat up on the bed, looking around his open apartment, I took my time as I looked around, my eyes landing on different things in his apartment. I looked at the way the orange rays of light shined on half of his tall bookshelf, stashed with books, as my eyes continued their nosy journey around his apartment, they found books sprawled out and scattered around random parts of his living area. Orange light streamed my attention to the small stack of books beside his coffee table, the way my heart fluttered when my eyes carried on throughout the room, past the coffee table and the lonely book sitting patiently on top of it but the man sitting ever so casually with the orange light shining on his tanned body, making his hair look lighter then it already was. The light reflected off the eyebrow piercings that stuck out from the side of his face slightly. My mind reminded me of last night as eyes landed on him, sitting on the sofa. He was half naked, sitting only in his boxers. I shivered due to the cold, his apartment was very cold, it was quite deceiving. With the orange light that was growing lighter with every passing minute you'd half expect it to be warm but I then felt a breeze on my left side, so strong it made my hair fly all over the place. I turned my head left, letting out a small gasp at the open door. I didn't even know he had a door that lead to the open. I pulled the silk black sheets off of my naked body and shuffled to the edge of the bed where I could dangle my legs. I quickly grabbed the first thing close to me, Eric's white shirt that he was wearing to the dance last night. I slipped it on, it was long enough to reach my mid thigh and it dangled loosely over my body. I stepped outside, placing my forearm in front of my eyes, letting out a barely audible gasp at the cold sensation of the metal connecting with my bare feet. I retracted my foot ever so slightly, looked down at the metal balcony and felt okay with it. I placed my foot on the balcony again and then used the door frame for support as I stepped out fully, placing my other foot down. I then continued to step forwards until my hands grasped the metal railing.
"Oh my," I whispered quietly, I let out a little laugh in excitement. The thought of how much I missed it made my stomach erupt with butterflies. Although it was only a few days, it felt like forever since I'd seen anything this beautiful. I squinted while facing the light, trying my hardest to gawp at the sight hoping it would stay like this forever. I knew he was there, behind me. I knew Eric was there, I could smell his distinctive aftershave. I could feel his large fingers run down my neck and sliding the shirt down my shoulder along with his fingers. I felt his other hand wrap around my waist as his lips brushed against my neck. I felt his lips plant soft kisses all down my neck until they reached the bottom, Eric placed his lips on my neck, his teeth digging into my skin slightly as he sucked. His tongue ran across my skin as I closed my eyes for a moment, it suddenly began to feel warm. The warm rays of the run rise hit my skin causing me to smile.
"Morning sunshine." He whispered as he brought his head up to rest on my shoulder.
"Good morning, Eric." I answered happily, I got butterflies every time he spoke.
"You know, you have 20 more minutes of sleep left before you actually have to get up." He pointed out, his warm breath brushing against my ear.
"I wouldn't miss this for the world. It maybe something so simple, but it makes me sad that when you see the sunrise so often you almost forget to appreciate it, and you forget what it means to you." I answered. Eric hummed quietly.
