12. Unexpected Delivery.

We headed back to the dauntless compound to celebrate. I especially felt like celebrating, Eric saved me. As word spread around the pit that Eric had saved the life of another, I began to feel anxious. Is it really that much of a shock? Eric saving me? Is it that hard to believe?

I felt an arm wrap around my neck.

"So, everyone knows now." Candy stated, I could almost hear the smirk in her voice. I turned my head to her.

"Know about what?" I asked, people could know about many things.

"About you and Eric.." She said, her tone saying, 'oh come on, don't pretend you don't know'.

"What about me and Eric?" I asked quickly, my eyebrows furrowed.

"Everyone know's about his crush on you." Alex filled in, I didn't even know he was there. The word 'crush' made my stomach almost fall out of my butt.

"C-crush?" I choked out, my mouth going incredibly dry.

"Yeah, haven't you noticed?" Candy asked with a roll of her eyes.

"No, actually. I didn't think he liked me like that." I admitted, making Alex laugh loudly.

"Oh you knew, don't lie." He said, smiling slightly.

"No, he never made it obvious. Lets just say there were a lot of mixed signals but I just wasn't sure." I informed them.

"Well, if you listen to the rumours, you'll never be sure initiate. You should just ask me if I like you." The sound of Eric's voice made my body tense up, I know Candy felt it because she looked at me funny. I turned my head to face her before we both turned around to face Eric. I felt awkward. Candy nudged me.

"Did you not get the hint?" Alex asked, rather harshly, "just ask him."

"What right now?" I asked, fearing being rejected in front of people. Eric rolled his eyes. "But it's forbidden," I whispered.

"Liking someone is not forbidden." Candy pointed out, "it's only if you act out on it, which Eric won't."

"Fine," I said as I stepped forward, "Eric, do you like me?"

He scoffed lightly.

"No, but I like having sex with you." He stated coldly.

Ouch.

My breath hitched in my throat. I opened my mouth to speak but instantly shut it again. That hurt. I smiled weakly at Eric before I walked past him. I could hear Candy scold him as I walked away.

Man that was mean...

As I walked through the pit, the stares I was receiving off people almost made me go crazy. I had to get out of here. What time is it? 7am? Looks like I'm going to train some more. I went and got changed into my exercise outfit and headed to the training hall. I caught Four on the way, he grabbed my arm and swung me around to face him. I tried to pull my arm out of his grip but he held too tightly. I could do nothing but stare up at him.

"I told you to be careful.." He said quietly but sternly.

"I'm fine," I said as I tried to pull my arm out of his grip again.

"It was only supposed to be a one time thing, Sam. He wasn't supposed to like you," he said, "you told me it was a one time thing.."

"Four, he's not as bad as you think!" I defended, even though he had just humiliated me in front of two of my friends and broke my heart a little bit.
