I am currently working on another chapter, "Who the Hell is Natasha?" (Part: 2), but in the meantime I'll post this just so I don't stop uploading for a month and can split the time while I think of more ideas for the upcoming chapter.

My school is out in a couple weeks, and I'm probably going to be pretty busy until then—that's also why this chapter was so late—but I should post the next chapter within the next two weeks or so, since I'm, like, a third of the way done with it right now.

You all have a wonderful week, and I hope you like the chapter!

America smelled like stale bread and freedom.

It was hot, and cold, and perfect all at the same time, and Natalia never wanted to leave it.

She hadn't even realized that she'd stopped walking to take it all in until her companion grabbed her by the hand, turning to her with a wide, giddy smile spread across his face. His eyes were inviting, like they had been every time she'd seen them since they'd really, truly met only two weeks before.

"Come on!" Clint exclaimed, staring to pull her by the hand out of the crowd of people just getting off of the plane that had arrived from Russia. He led her away from the people, mostly born American citizens returning from vacation in Moscow.

Now that she was here, though, Natalia wondered why anyone would ever want to leave America.

Clint laughed as they ran from the gate and down the long, crowded halls to the baggage claim.

What was so amazing, Natalia thought, was that not a single person told them to stop running. No one glared at them. No one yelled at them. No one cared! It was incredible.

Their legs ached after the ten hour flight, but neither minded; they just kept sprinting, Clint leading Natalia, through a small airport in a large country that would soon become her permanent home, she hoped.

Once at the baggage claim, Clint quickly located his single bag that not only carried his clothes and weapons, but also the single items that Natalia owned.

Clint unzipped his bag, just to check that everything was in it, and Natalia spotted her green-and-black baseball cap, sitting atop his unfolded shirt. Before Clint could zip the bag back up, she reached a hand in and snatched it up.

He glanced at her, smiling softly with a twinkle in his gray eyes, as she fixed the hat on her head and adjusted it so she could see well enough.

She awkwardly returned his smile, and watched as he zipped the bag, now having all of her stuff except the baseball cap that had been the first thing she'd ever bought on her own.

The hat had caught her eye in the window of a clothing store, and since they'd needed something to hide her face from anyone who might be looking at her, he'd given her the money to buy it.
