Description: When Steve brings his newly-free-of-mind-control best friend to the tower to stay for a little while until Bucky can fully recover from the memory wipes, he definitely doesn't expect the reaction his best friend has to seeing Natasha and vise-versa.

Major Characters: Natasha, Bucky, Steve

Minor Characters: Clint, Tony

I'm not going to do a part two to this chapter—most likely, but I'm still weighing the options of doing a '"Run," (Part 3)'.

There's some language in this chapter.

Thank you to everyone who voted on and read this story!

"Clint, where's Nat?" Steve asked.

Clint shrugged. "How should I know?" He took a seat at the counter next to Bruce.

Steve let out an exasperated breath and rubbed his forehead like a tired parent. "Whatever. I'll just tell her later."

Tony rolled his eyes. "How come I have to be here but she doesn't?"

Clint shushed him. "Let Cap have his moment."

"Thank you, Clint." Steve started pacing in front of the kitchen counter. Steve, Bruce, and Tony exchanged a confused look. "You know Bucky? My old friend who was taken by HYDRA?"

They nodded, and all three were about to remind him that they had fought and nearly been killed by him, when Steve stopped pacing and looked up.

"Well, SHIELD got a hold of him, as you know, and he's going to be living with us for a little while."

"...You lost me," Tony commented.

Steve sighed again. "He's free of mind-control, and Fury thought it might help him to get to know us and be around me more. He still doesn't have all of his memories so he just needs a house and people to help and care about him."

"So... an ex-HYDRA assassin is going to be living with us?" Bruce inquired.

"We've taken in worse," Clint pointed out. "Wanda... Vision... you, me, Nat, Thor. I think we'll be good."

Tony stood up and turned to go back to his lab. "Fine. But no more adopting traumatized villains–or superheroes, for that matter–after this."

"Says you," Clint mumbled.

"What was that?"

"Nothing, Dad!"

"So, that's the front desk. There's Tony's private elevator, and the staffs' elevator, Pepper's elevator, the rest of the Avengers' elevator–Tony really likes elevators. That's the study room where Tony lets kids hang out and study after school. And there's..."

As Steve droned on and on, Bucky zoned out, his eyes instead wandering the streets and watching for any potential threats. This whole "home" and "family" idea was new to him, and he was still very confused on how to act.

"...uck. Bucky!"

Bucky snapped to attention. "Hmm?"

"Did you catch any of that?"
