"That's Kinda Suspicious,"

Description: Tony and Steve have always suspected that there's a little more to Natasha and Clint's partnership than just friends. But even after Natasha is caught caring for Clint more than any of them realize she could and they are caught sleeping in the same bed as each other, the two still deny it. However, it only takes on mission-followed-by-a-lecture to reveal the truth—and something neither Tony nor Steve expected.

Ships: Clintasha

Major Characters: Tony, Steve, Clint, Natasha

Minor Characters: Fury (referenced), Coulson

This is an AU where Clint's family doesn't exist, because the timeline is kind of confusing with them, and I don't even know if they're a real family in the MCU and not just a SHIELD plot to motivate the Avengers like Coulson's trading cards—especially after the Hawkeye TV Show last scene.

I'm really sorry for the late update, I had a lot of things going on this week and last. Spring Break is coming up, though. I'm not sure if I'll update more or left over the break. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

There is some language in this chapter—just a warning.

Another thing, I realize that there haven't been many chapters so far that are just focused on ships, so I decided to write another one. Tell me if you guys prefer ship-chapters or just straight up angst ones.

Finally, this chapter lacks a lot of the angst that I promised in the introduction (though there still is some) and is overall happier.

Enjoy the chapter!

The first suspicions started on a Tuesday.

Clint had been on a mission for the last two weeks in which the Avengers were disclosed absolutely nothing. They didn't even know how long it was suppose to last until Fury told them that Clint's mission had officially failed, and they weren't sure where he was. That was five days ago. Five days full of fretful sleep for all of them, as well as silence at mealtimes and completely quiet fights while training. They even skipped game night out of worry for their friend. Only a day after the news, Natasha requested to be sent in after her partner, but Fury turned her down, claiming that the matter was being handled.

And it was handled, surprisingly. Thirteen days after Clint first left, Fury told them that they had rescued him, and he was returning to the tower the following day.

"In what condition?" Natasha had asked. It was the first time they'd really heard her speak since he was pronounced missing.

"He's a little rattled," Fury responded. "But he'll be okay." Then he gave her a knowing look.

Natasha merely nodded.

However, the new, weird part wasn't until the next morning.

"He'll need help to his room," were Natasha's exact words—an excuse for her waiting on the couch outside of the elevator for when he came.

Steve's expression shifted to one of sympathy; Tony tried to hide his smirk. The billionaire wondered if there was a different, deeper meaning to her eagerness to be the first to see him.

But Natasha was right in the end. Like always.

When Clint had stumbled out of the elevator, supported by Coulson, who looked more raggedy and worried than any of them had ever seen, he could hardly stand.
