At last, they picked up the leaves they had collected, ready for the paper-making. The ghost left the squid on a small puddle nearby.
🐺 "All of this fighting made me forget about what you said to make paper"
🗣️ "Well, like I said, we just have to place the leaves in water until they turn into a paste, and then we flat that paste out and let it dry. And thanks to the rain, the leaves are already wet, even better for us"
The wolf went to collect water, as the ghost started to teach the human to read.
👻 "What do you plan to write in the first place? You surely don't even know what you're doing"
🗣️ "Well, since we heard that Blood Cherries are created via some process, it made me wonder if there's more things we don't know about other items, or maybe even over-naturals! We should do some tests to see what we can do"
👻 "Tests? That sounds very vague, what about we call it something fancier. Hmm what about 'Experiments'?"
🗣️ "Experiments? Where did you got that word from?"
👻 "I just tried to say experience in a funny way, but it does sound kinda nice don't you think?"
🗣️ "Very well, we shall experiment with everything we have. If Megacures can be turned into Blood Cherries, that surely means other things can be turned into different ones as well"
Learning to read turned out to be easier than the human thought, as he had memorized the alphabet before the werewolf was back with the water.
The human gave instructions on the amount of water to mix with the leaves, and also placed a Cottonvine in the mix to make the paper lighter.
He also started to think of the first of experiments he wanted to do: Megacure effects on non-living objects. As they finished the paper mixture, the night started to set it. The human started collecting some flowers to make into dyes, and ordered the werewolf to collect vines while the ghost watched out for threats. He painted the vines with different colors, to be able to organize any future plans they had to make. At last, they ate dinner using the goblin town's pot and vegetables, and the Icy Lake's fish, into a hearty meal. The ghost signaled them of incoming zombies as they finished eating, a good moment to enter the cave and get some rest.
The first ever experiment began the next day at sunrise, as they had several objects ready to be affected by Megacures. The human carefully blew the megacure's orange cloud into a mixture of water and sand. As it surrounded the mix, the sand particles began to shimmer, slowly settling at the bottom of the container as if magnetically drawn together. The water turned crystal clear, as though purified by the Megacure's influence. Next up was a piece of burnt wood and a piece of wood in fire. The megacure's cloud didn't have any effect on the burnt wood, but did make the other one on fire to become burnt rapidly, way faster than it normally would. The human was starting to understand what Megacures really did.
The last experiment was with two pieces of magnetic rocks, one with a weaker magnetic influence than the other. The Megacure boosted both to become even more powerful than those alredy were.
🗣️ "Well here's a posible reason: Megacures try to make things ordered, like they're trying to discourage disorder in a way. Maybe our bodies are more disordered when hurt, which is why Megacures heal us"
👻 "Let's make that fancier. Can you think of terms for possible reasons and amount of disorder?"
🗣️ "Hmmm, what about entropy for the amount of disorser? The more entropy something has, the more disordered it looks. I have no ideas for the possible reasons one though"
🐺 "Well what about Theory?"
🗣️ "Yeah, I like how it sounds. So, our full theory is: Megacures minimize entropy, that's why they can cure us. Let's remember that for now until we have the paper available. Do you guys want to make experiments as well? Any piece of knowledge is gonna be invaluable"
🐺 "Well, I wanna know how Bloodflowers work, and what vampirism is"
👻 "I wanna know why fish never seem to run out on rivers. Have you guys noticed that? And I never see fish mating like most other animals would"
🗣️ "Alright, we should do the Bloodflower experiments with her brother since he's alredy a vampire anyway"They decided they needed a more robust place for doing their experiments, and so they started expanding the Bloodtree cave, making a new section for their experiments while keeping the current section for the bedroom and supplies.
Using some fallen logs, they made a table and created clay pots to store liquids to better do the experiments.
Finally, they started collecting bloodflowers, still up on the tree, to begin some experiments with them.
👻 "Hey check it out, a fish just expelled a lot of tiny marbles. The fuck are those?" the ghost said as they were walking near a river.
🗣️ "What? Marbles? How's that possible? Fish are so weird ... But what if those marbles are related to their reproduction? Maybe we could take some and store them to see what happens"
The werewolf went ahead and collected half of them, as the human instructed to leave some to know how they naturally act. Knowledge was only starting to expand, but it had a bright future.
