I've already uploaded this in story outlines, and am working on a chapter for my extra stories
Makovu is the youngest of the royal family of the tree of life. But that never bothered him because he never really liked living there. He loves the tree and its people and his family, but he hates staying in one place. Ever since he was young, he dreamed of exploring the world, and when he was 13, his parents (the king and queen) finally let him, so he spent as much time away as he could. But he never stayed away forever. He loves his family too much.
He loves this. He goes everywhere from the tree of life as far south as the outlands, but it isn't always safe. If you get a good look at him, you can tell he's been in a few fights. Nevertheless, he keeps going.
He celebrated his 16th birthday at the tree of life before realizing he's running out of places to visit south, so he went on one more adventure to the south, which changed his life.
SPOILERS FOR ANYONE NOT PAST LEAVING HOME
On this last expedition, he met an abused Kion and his group of wolves. He brought them to the tree of life and decided to stay there for a year while Kion recovered from his abuse, and his brother falls in love.

This story would take place primarily before Makovu meets Kion. But I would probably switch back and forth from the current WTWC time and his younger life.
