*Kiara pov*
After Zira's defeat, the pridelands are peaceful, and I'm preparing to become queen once my father retires. But I think what me and Kovu are missing is a cub. We both agree that we want one, but we never could get one.
One early morning, I walk out for my daily patrol and sit on the top of priderock. Kovu walks out and nuzzles me and says, "I'll get the east today." I say, "Alright." We embrace each other for a minute before he kisses my cheek and says, " Love you, babe." I say, "Love you." He walks down pride, and I follow shortly after and walk the opposite direction.
About an hour after I start walking, I find a few Zebras circled around something in the tall grass. I walk over, and the Zebras bow as I look. My jaw drops when I see it... a lion cub with light brown fur and a dark tuft on his head. He looks scared, but when he sees me, he growls, which makes me chuckle.
When I lean in to look at him, he claws at me and misses, so I back up and ask Thurston, "Where'd you find him?" He says, "He was just sleeping here." I say, "No parents." He says, 'No, if there were, we would've panicked and ran." I roll my eyes and say, "Can you just distract him?" He says, "Oh, of course." He starts telling a boring story that almost puts me to sleep, so the cub starts walking away, but I pick him up by the scruff.
He starts falling, trying to get me to let go, but I say, "Who are you, and where are your parents?" He says, "LET ME GOOOOO." I say, "Answer me, and I will." He says, "Fine, I'm jedi, and I don't have parents." I say, "Well, I'm Kiara, and you're coming with me." He kicks and flails again and says, "NO LET ME GOOOOOO." I chuckle and pick him up by the scruff again. He flails all the way to priderock, but when we get there, the other lion[ess]s, including my parents, makes a circle around us. I do notice Kovu is missing, though.
When I set him down, I said, "I found this cub named Jedi. He says he's an orphan." Simba says, "The hybrid?" I say, "What?" Simba says, "He's a cheetah hybrid." I'm confused, so I say, "He is?" Jedi shows me his spots and says, "Yep, I'm a freak." I say, "Don't say that... will anyone take him in?" Everyone just looks concerned, so I say, "You know what I will." Both my parents and Jedi look shocked, and he tries to run, but I catch him and say, "Yep, I'm gonna take him in." Jedi's ears drop as I carry him back.
Shortly after, Kovu runs up into priderock carrying something... something furry.
