Michi's wings beat powerfully against the wind as she soared above the evacuated ponies below. Her sharp eyes scanned the crowd, searching for any sign of her young charge, Aimi.
However, to her surprise, the unicorn filly was nowhere to be seen. Instead, Michi noticed that she was the only pony with wings among the evacuees. The rest of the ponies were making their way on foot, their steps slowed by the muddy terrain and relentless rain.
A small group of royal guards brought up the rear, their horns glowing with protective magic, but aside from them, Michi seemed to be the only one capable of flight.
As she drew closer to the front of the long, weary line, Michi's gaze fixed on their destination - Canterlot, the shimmering spires rising in the distance.
"Of course," Michi murmured to herself, her mind racing. "The safest place for the evacuees would be the heart of the kingdom, under the watchful eye of the princess."
With renewed purpose, Michi began to carefully scan the crowd once more, her eyes searching for any sign of Aimi or Enzo. She had to make sure they were safe, that they had made it to the evacuation point.
The guard's wings beat steadily as she maintained her aerial position, her keen senses alert for any sign of trouble. The thought of Enzo and Aimi being separated from her filled Michi with a deep sense of worry, but she pushed it aside, focusing on the task at hand.
As she neared the front of the line, Michi could feel the tension in the air, the fear and uncertainty palpable among the evacuated ponies. They were relying on her and the other guards to keep them safe, and
Michi was determined not to let them down.
Michi soared above the crowded streets of Canterlot, her wings cutting through the calm air as she surveyed the scene below. The once-bustling city had been transformed into a haven for the displaced ponies of Ponytown, who had sought refuge within its sturdy walls.
As Michi flew higher, she could see the relief and gratitude etched upon the faces of the weary travelers. Ponies were being welcomed into homes, shops, and any available shelter, with food and blankets being generously offered to all who had arrived.
Just as Michi was about to continue on her way, a voice from behind stopped her in her tracks.
"Michi? What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be in Cloudsdale with the others?"
Michi turned to face the curious pegasus, her expression serious. "I was given an important message to deliver to the lead guard," she replied, her tone measured and determined.
The other pegasus blinked in surprise, his wings fluttering nervously. "A message? What could be so important that you're not with the rest of us in Cloudsdale?"
Michi hesitated for a moment, weighing her words carefully. "I'm afraid I can't disclose the details of the message," she said, her voice lowering to a somber tone. "But it's vital that I speak with the lead guard as soon as possible."
The pegasus nodded slowly, his brow furrowing with concern. "I understand. Come, I'll take you to the guard station. They'll be able to direct you to the lead guard."
Without another word, Michi followed the pegasus as he swiftly navigated the crowded streets, weaving between the ponies who had found temporary refuge in Canterlot. The air was filled with the murmurs of conversation and the occasional sound of a child's laughter, a stark contrast to the tense atmosphere that had pervaded Ponytown just hours earlier.
As they approached the guard station, Michi could feel the weight of her message weighing heavily upon her. Whatever news she carried, it had the potential to change the course of the unfolding crisis.
