"How the hell did I get roped into this?" You asked Julien.

It was 7am on a Sunday and the two of you were going on a hike. Julien had been talking about doing this for weeks with you and you had finally agreed. She had been begging to do this with you.

Julien laughed softly as she used a rock to put her foot on as she tied her shoe. "Oh, come on, it's not going to be that bad."

You scoffed a bit, rubbing your eyes. "I could be sleeping right now." You were not a morning person.

Julien finished tying her shoe and walked over to you. She kissed the top of your head, laughing a bit at the soft pout you gave her.

"This will be fun." She said with a grin.

Julien had always loved doing outdoor activities. Whether it was hiking, camping, gardening, she loved nature. Sure, you liked being outside, but something about being up too damn early on your day off was not something you planned for.

"I haven't had coffee." You complain a bit.

Julien rolled her eyes with a laugh as she took your hand. "We can get some afterwards baby."

You groaned. "Ugh, fine."

Julien shook her head as she started to guide you to the trail you guys would be taking. Since it was still early in the morning, the sun wasn't too hot yet. It would make for an easier time for the two of you.

The trail started off smooth but ended up getting steeper the higher you guys went.

"Jesus, how much farther babe?" You asked, still holding her hand.

She turned to look at you. "Not too much farther love."

As you guys continued up, you jumped seeing a snake slither across the trail. You were fine with them as long as they kept their distance, it just happened to startle you.

"Fuck." You said, holding your hand over your chest. Your heart beating fast as you recovered from the snake startling you.

Julien had stopped walking, placing both her hands on your shoulders.

"You okay baby?" She asked softly. She wanted to make sure you were okay as she knew how bad your anxiety could get sometimes.

You nod. "Yeah, that just scared me."

She nods, giving you a soft kiss on the forehead. "You want to kept going?"

You nod. You guys were already halfway to the top and there was no point in giving up at this point. This hike wasn't as bad as you thought it would be. You were actually starting to enjoy this hike, though you knew your legs would hurt like a bitch later.

Once at the top, you looked out at the beautiful view, taking in the scenery.

"It's beautiful." You said softly, smiling a bit.

Julien smiled at your comment as she nodded.

"It is beautiful, but not as beautiful as you." Julien said with a grin.

You blushed a bit at her comment. "God, you are so cheesy." You laughed a bit before leaning in for a kiss.

"You love it." Julien said with a laugh as she kissed you back.

You had made the stupid mistake of looking down the cliff, feeling a wave of anxiety with how high up you guys were currently. You had a slight fear of heights.

Julien could sense the anxiety and carefully pulled you away from the edge.

"Alright, no more doing that. You're safe baby." She said softly, running a thumb over your knuckles.

You nodded, taking a deep breath. You weren't going to let the anxiety ruin the rest of this hike. You were going to have to mutter through it. Julien watched you with soft eyes, making sure you were okay. She worried when it came to your anxiety. She hated how much you struggled with it.

"Here, let's have you sit down on this rock love." Julien suggests, helping you to sit down on a rock.

You let her guide you to sit down, watching as she pulls a water bottle from her bag. She has you take a few sips, keeping her hands on your thighs as she squatted down to be eye level with you. Her thumbs running soothingly on your skin.

After a few minutes, you started to feel a bit better. The anxiety was still there, but manageable.

"Ready to head down?" Julien asked, offering a hand to help you up.

You nod, taking her hand as you stand up. "Ready."

Once down at the bottom, you pull your hair from the ponytail it was in, shaking it out a little before fixing it into a messy bun.

"So..coffee?" You asked with a grin.

Julien laughed softly. "Mhm, come on my coffee addict." She jokes, leading you to the car.

As much as you hated having to get up early that morning, it was well worth it. Getting to spend that time with your lover was special. Would you do it again? Yes. Would you probably complain again? Probably. Any adventure with Julien was special.
