"Jules?" Y/N said softly, pulling apart from the heated kiss the two had been having.

"Hm?" Julien said, pulling back to look at Y/N.

The two had messy hair, their lips were slightly swollen, and their shirts were a bit wrinkled. The two had been making out under the bleachers during lunch. The two lovers had a secret relationship with one another. Julien was fully out in their High School. Everyone knew she was a lesbian. She didn't hide it and she was proud to be fully out. Y/N on the other hand was not out. She didn't have a label for herself, but she was definitely not straight. Her parents were very religious and if anyone from her family found out about the relationship, she was fucked.

"We have to be careful. What if someone catches us?" Y/N said nervously, glancing around at their surroundings.

Julien sighed and ran a hand through her messy hair. "When are we going to stop hiding this? I can't keep doing this. Do you know how hard it is to not flaunt around my beautiful girlfriend?"

Y/N sighed, fixing the front of her shirt. "Jules, you know my parents would send me away if they found out."

"They're going to find out eventually." Julien said, putting on ChapStick that she had found in her bag.

Y/N let out a soft sigh. "I'm sorry that I'm not ready to be out. I can't handle that stress right now, okay?" Y/N raised her voice slightly.

Julien sighed and put her ChapStick away before throwing her bag over her shoulder. "Maybe this isn't going to work out. Maybe you're just not ready for this type of commitment. I'm tired of sneaking around."

That was a jab to the heart.  Y/N stood there stunned. "So that's it? That's how you want to end things?" Her voice was filled with hurt but mixed with a bit of anger.

"I guess so. I'll see you around." Julien turned her back and started to walk away. Heading back towards the school.

Y/N's face turned red, and she blurted out something she didn't entirely mean.

"Fuck you, Baker."

The words felt like a knife through Julien's heart, but she continued to walk away. She couldn't look Y/N in the face. She felt a sense of hurt and embarrassment.

Y/N let out a frustrated groan and plopped down on the ground. Lunch was almost over but she didn't want to go back. She had math class with Julien but now she was just thinking of skipping.

"Y/N?" Phoebe's soft voice said as she walked toward her.

Phoebe and Y/N were best friends. Practically sisters. The two lived next door to one another and had been friends since diapers.

Y/N glanced up when she heard her friend's voice. She gave her a sad smile, continuing to stay seated on the ground. Phoebe set her bag down before plopping down next to Y/N.

"So... I'm guessing things are over between you and Jules?" Phoebe said softly, glancing at Y/N.

"How'd you guess?" Y/N said, letting out a sad laugh.

Phoebe sighed a little. "Well, I saw the two of you arguing and I heard you tell her to fuck off so I'm assuming that's what happened."

Y/N nodded. "Well, you guessed correctly."

Phoebe frowned a bit. She wasn't super close with Julien, but she had tried to respect the relationship Y/N and Julien had shared. Phoebe was always protective of Y/N. She had stood up to the bullies that belittled Y/N. She once knocked a kid out for making fun of Y/N's outfit. Phoebe was not a person you wanted to mess with when it came to her protecting her best friend.
