The sun was shining warmly as it peeked through the gap in the curtain, casting a gentle light on the room. She couldn't help but move the curtain aside, shielding her face from the brightness as she diligently packed her bag. Each item she placed inside held a memory, a story, a piece of her life that was intertwined with his.

As she folded clothes and gathered her essentials, her mind wandered back to the day she had first arrived here. She had come with nothing but the clothes on her back, having lost her job, her home, and her sense of security. It was him who had offered her a safe haven, who had bought her a toothbrush when she had none. He had given her everything she had now, and each item felt like a tangible connection to him, a part of the life she had come to cherish.

The truth was, nothing truly belonged to her. Everything she had was a gift from him, a reminder of his kindness and the bond they had shared. As she continued packing, her heart ached at the thought of leaving this room, this sanctuary that had become her home. The idea of another woman living here, sharing this space with him, was almost unbearable.

She paused, taking a deep breath to steady herself. She didn't want to leave. She didn't want to let go of this room, this life. Her heart wrenched at the thought of moving on, of stepping out into a world that suddenly felt so foreign and unwelcoming. But she knew it was time. Time to face reality, time to move forward.

As she packed her bag, she cast, lingering look around the room. The bed where she had found comfort, the chair where they had shared quiet moments, the desk where she had tried to rebuild her life—it all felt like a part of her. Her breath hitched as her eyes fell upon the musical box, a cherished gift from him. It sat on the dresser, a beacon of light in the darkness, its soft melody a balm to her troubled soul. Whenever fear threatened to overwhelm her, whenever memories of that fateful day crept back into her mind, she would turn to the music box. Its gentle glow and calming tune never failed to soothe her heart, offering her solace in her darkest moments.

But now, as she packed her belongings, her eyes welled with tears as she was forced to confront the memories she had been trying to escape. The reason she has received  the music box was etched into her mind, a painful reminder of the events that had changed her life forever.

She had been an orphan, alone in the world with no one to turn to. But she had refused to let her circumstances define her. She had worked tirelessly to escape the clutches of the evil orphanage where she had spent sixteen long years of her life. Despite the hardships and the obstacles in her path, she had persevered, earning scholarships and working part-time jobs to put herself through college.

After years of struggle, she had finally landed a job at a reputable company, carving out a life for herself that was independent and free.
In those special moments, she enjoyed the freedom she'd wanted for so long—no more fear of unknown men, no more being stuck in a locked room. Her tiny apartment felt like her own haven, a place she could finally call hers. She loved having her own things, her own money, and the ability to decide her own future.

But in one awful twist of fate, she lost everything in one terrible night.

The truth was  her orphanage sold her when she was only fourteen, to some unknown man. For which the orphanage was paid heavily making money off of her when they should've protected her. She remembered crying and begging, trying in vain to stay in the only home she knew, only home she thought she had. She was allowed by who bought her to spend four years in the orphanage after which she had to go with them either for whole life for what she didn't knew.

But she grabbed the chance at 17 year age to escape to a big city like Mumbai, hoping for freedom.  Even though it was tough, she managed to start over, against all odds. From where she earned her scholarship, her college degree and her job.

But just when it seemed like she had overcome her past, the shadows of the darkness  began to resurface, threatening to drag her back into the darkness.

But now, as she prepared to leave, she couldn't help but wonder what the future held in store for her. Would she ever find the peace and the happiness she so desperately longed for? Or would she be condemned to forever be haunted by the ghosts of her past?
