--------------When she was finally happy in her life and content
But then, they had found her.
The powerful men who once held her in his grip had not forgotten her. The men who she was sold to who paid so much money to orphanage for her was back again to ruin her life.
But when they finally found her, she hadn't even realized she was being hunted. He had torn her life apart, piece by piece. Her life had turned into chaos, and she struggled to understand why.
First, she was fired from her job without any explanation. Then, she was given an abrupt notice to empty her apartment. It felt as if everything was collapsing around her, and she had no control.
It was a particular Sunday, she was unaware of the danger looming over her. She was busy in applying for new jobs, trying to find a way out of her difficult situation. Suddenly, a loud banging at the door startled her. Heart racing, she timidly approached the door, cracking it open just slightly to see who was there.
Before she could fully understand the situation, the man barged in forcefully. The door slammed against the wall, and before she could react, he harshly threw her against the wall. The shock of seeing him, the same men she was running all of her life, after all these years paralyzed her. She tried to run, but he grabbed her by the hair, yanking her back. She screamed in pain, and he slapped her hard, sending her down to the floor.
He stood over her, face contorted with rage, and anger as he whispered looking into her eyes gripping her jaws "You like running away, don't you? Bitch I paid for you. Now I'll teach you a lesson for running away." His grip on her jaw was painful, and his eyes were filled with malice.
He ordered his men to hold her down as he began collecting all her belongings. Her clothes, her documents, her ID, and even her college degree were thrown into a pile. She pleaded and cried, begging him not to destroy her things, but he ignored her. With an evil grin, he struck a match and tossed it onto the pile. The flames quickly engulfed everything, her cries of pain and ruin matching with the fire.
When everything had turned into a ash, he looked at her with a threatening glare, daring her to resist. "Bring her to the car," he told his men as he walked out. They grabbed her roughly by the arms, pulling her to her feet.
As they started dragging her out of the house, she felt a surge of desperation. She had to fight back. If she didn't, she feared she would face a fate worse than death. Adrenaline rushed through her, and with a sudden burst of strength, she kicked one of the men in the groin as hard as she could. He fell to the ground, groaning in pain.
Panic and determination took over as she ran for the door. She sprinted through the building, running through the hallways, her heart pounding. She could hear shouts and footsteps behind her but didn't look back.
She ran into a narrow street, hoping to lose them in the maze of streets. Her lungs burned, and her legs felt like they would give out, but she kept going. The darkness of the street seemed like her only chance at escape.
At the end of the alley, she glanced back one last time. The men were still chasing her, but she had gained some distance. Without wasting a second, she kept running, driven by the need to survive. The city lights blurred around her as she looked for a safe place, praying she could find it before they caught up to her.
She didn't know how long she had been running, her legs moving by sheer willpower, without any water or rest. The city passed by in a blur of desperation and fear. She couldn't stop, not with those men chasing her.
At last, after what felt like forever, she thought she had lost them. Her breath was ragged, and her body ached as she stumbled into a gated society. The calm surroundings seemed so different from the terror she had just escaped. She saw an empty park with some benches under a building, offering a small hope for a break.
She made her way to one of the benches, her legs barely holding her up. As she sank onto the bench, relief washed over her. But the mix of shock and exhaustion was too much. Her vision blurred, and before she knew it, darkness took over. She fainted, collapsing onto the bench, finally giving in to the physical and emotional strain of day.
