Tisha pov

I had always loved the vibrant energy of California. The sun, the surf, and the endless opportunities for adventure made it my favorite place in the world. I should be getting for my date with Duane. He should be here at any moment now.

"Tisha, some guy named Duane is for you", yelled Babydoll.

I make my way downstairs to see Duane waiting patiently for me at the door.

"Hey, Duane it's nice to see you after our little fiasco"

"Hey, Tisha I got these for you", Duane says as he hand me a bouquet of red roses.

"Thanks, Duane they're very lovely. So where do you wanna head to first"

"Well, I was kind of wondering can you show me around? I'm new around here I could really use a local's perspective"

My eyes lit up. I loved playing tour guide, especially to someone who's new to town.

"Of course! I'd love to show you around. How about we start with one of my favorite spots, Denny's? It's a bit of tradition for me"

Duane agreed, and we headed to Denny's. The familiar smell of pancakes and bacon greeted us as we walked in. We found a cozy booth by the window and settled in. I ordered the usual- a Grand Slam breakfast- while Duane decided to try the same.

"So, what brought you to California?", I asked, taking a sip of my orange juice.

Duane smiled. "I moved here for a new job, you see I was playing for the New York Knicks instead I ended up getting cut and never played. And I've always wanted to live by the beach. It's a bit overwhelming though. There's so much to see and do"

"I know the feeling", I added, nodding. "When me and my family first moved here, I felt the same way. But you'll get hang of it. This city has a lot to offer"

As we ate, we continued to chat about our backgrounds, hobbies, and favorite places. I learned that Duane was trying to become an actor and looking for opportunities out here so I said I would help him.

After our delicious meal, I suggested they take a walk along the Venice Boardwalk. "It's one of my favorite places", I said. "There's always something interesting going on"

Duane and I continued our walk along the Venice Boardwalk, sharing stories and laughter. As the sun began to set, casting a golden glow over the ocean, we found ourselves at a quiet spot on the beach.

"This has been such an amazing day", Duane said, looking out at the horizon. " I can't thank you enough for showing me around"

I smiled, feeling a warm connection growing between us. "I'm glad you enjoyed it. It's been great getting to know you"

We stood there for a moment, the sound of the waves crashing gently in the background. Duane turned to me, his eyes reflecting the sunset's colors.

"You know, I think I'm really going to like it here"

I felt a flutter in my chest.

"I think you're going to fit in just fine", I replied softly.

As if drawn by an invisible force, we both leaned in, and our lips met in a tender, heartfelt kiss. The world seemed to pause around us, the only thing that mattered was that perfect moment we shared.

When we finally pulled away, we both smiled, knowing that this was just the beginning of something special.

Or is it....👀
