Tisha pov
3 months....
For the last past 3 months I've been living in hell. I had been dating Duane for the past 3 months, and on the surface, everything seemed perfect. We appeared to be the picture-perfect couple in the magazines, but behind closed doors, I was living a nightmare.
Duane had been emotionally, physically, mentally, verbally abusing me, leaving me feeling trapped and isolated. Despite the concern of my friends and family, I always insisted that I was fine, masking the reality of my situation.
Every morning, I would wake up early to apply make up to my neck, skillfully covering the bruises left by Duane's violent outbursts. He would often grab me by the neck during arguments, leaving dark marks that I had to hide. Duane's verbal abuse was relentless, constantly belittling me and making me feel worthless. He would call me names, insult my intelligence, and blame me for everything that went wrong in his life.
How he can blame me for everything that went wrong in his life when I'm the one who helped get on his feet, let him live in me & Tichina apartment for a month until he find a place to stay, and not only that I'm the one who help him land movie roles.
"Ti, are you alright. You have been in the bathroom for some time now", Tichina said on the other side of the door.
"I'm fine", I said while holding a blade in my right hand.
"Well, I'm handing out let me know if you need anything"
"Alright", I said while sniffling
I stand still for a moment to hear Tichina close the door on her way out. Then I peak my head out to if she is really gone.
"Let's get this over with", I said while placing the blade to left arm

Something doesn't feel right. I hadn't seen Tisha for 3 months. I should check up on her. I missed our hangouts and I'm worried about her sudden disappearance from our social circle. I have Bill drop her off to her apartment.
After sometime I finally arrive at Tisha's apartment. I see Tichina leaving out the front door.
"Hey Tichina!", I yelled getting her attention
"Oh hey Mike, what brings you by?"
"I came to see Tisha is she in there?"
"Yea she in there. She's in the bathroom. I gotta go let me just unlock the door for you", she said.
"Thanks, see you later"
"Bye"
When I entered the apartment, I found the bathroom door slightly ajar and I walked in, calling out her name. To my horror, I found Tisha in the bathroom, cutting herself on her arms.
"Stop! Tisha, what are you doing?", I shouted, rushing to her side and grabbing her hands to prevent further harm.
Tisha broke down in tears, her sobs filling the room. "I can't do this anymore, Michael. I can't keep pretending everything is okay".
I held her tightly, my own heart breaking at the sight of my best friend in so much pain.
"What happened, Tisha? Please, tell me what's going on".
Through her tears, Tisha finally opened up about the abuse she had been enduring. She recounted the emotional manipulation, the physical assaults, and the constant fear that had taken over her life. I listened intently, my anger towards Duane growing with every word.
"You don't have to go through this alone,Tisha," I said firmly. "You need to see a therapist, someone who can help you heal from this trauma. And I promise, I'll be there every step of the way. We'll get through this together."
Tisha nodded, feeling a glimmer of hope for the first time in months. With my support, she knew she could find the strength to leave Duane and start the journey towards healing. It wouldn't be easy, but with me by her side, she felt ready to take the first steps towards reclaiming her life.
