Heart to heart

The comfort of a warm knitted blanket was all Leo wanted to think about right now, as his eyelids grew heavy.

Thursday came quick.

Leo almost didn't notice that with the way he spends most of his days sleeping now. What happened to that healthy, productive schedule he arranged for himself? The slider long forgot about its existence after failing to keep up with the routine once. The only reason why he even bothered to check the calendar was Donnie's endless wailing.

"'Donnie' and 'wailing' can't be used in the same sentence!"- you'd say, if you only knew Donnie as the mysterious genius brother. Which is the only way of Venus and Jenny being familiar with them.

-How could you forget today is THE day?! – the purple sibling yelled after tugging Leo's now favorite blanket off him.

-Jeez, Don, what's with your volume? – Leo's morning voice came out with a rasp.

- "What's with your volume!"- Donnie mimicked Leo, -Get up right this moment, young man, and pull on your best clothes. We are going on a LAB TOUR!

If you saw Leo's expression, you'd understand why Jenny snickered at it. Can't blame her: Leo's face is comically expressive. And right then it was expressing utter confusion.

With a small grunt, the slider eventually got up and looked at Donnie with his 'I hate you' face.

-Why are you looking at me like that?

-No reason.

Then he looked over to the shadow sisters, who were observing the situation in front of his bedroom door.

-It would be very kind of you people to save me some dignity and close the door, - he said, clearly hinting at his discomfort.

Jenny stopped laughing and quickly did what she was asked to. Venus' reaction to that was unknown to Leo since he didn't manage to see it.

-Move quicker! We're going to be late!

-Fashionably late, you mean, - Leo smirked.

-NO! Embarrassingly late! – Donnie took a pause to look at his arm-tablet. – We're 5 minutes late already, Draxum will be so disappointed.

-Relax, bro, - Leo let out, pulling on a hoodie from his pile of clean clothing. – You have the power of teleportation and physics on your side, after all.

-You distorting my favorite quotes is my 13th reason why.

Saying their bickering ended would be a shameless lie, but Donnie finally left the room with the fully clothed Leo following closely behind. Meeting Jennika and Venus in the hallway, Leo realized that he hasn't greeted them today.

-Now that I look presentable, hello, you two!

-Leo. Time.

-fine, fine.

Leo summoned one katana and swiftly slashed the air. A portal appeared in front of the turtle quartet, and they jumped in. Venus was not unfamiliar with portals – Big Mama's hotel and arena were connected through one, so coming in and out like that was no big of a deal for her. Jennika, however, rarely left the Hidden city, which is why portalling and all the related stuff was still new for her. Before going into the portal, she clung onto her sister's arm and shut her eyes.

Of course, Venus noticed it, but she chose not to mention it. Was it the fear of losing such trust that held her mouth shut? She wasn't sure.

When the quartet of turtles arrived at the designated place, Venus noticed that they were on the surface. She made a mental note that Draxum lived on the surface just in case she'd have to look for it later. All this portalling meant that Leonardo and Donatello didn't want to disclose Draxum's location for whatever reason. Right?
