--Author's Perspective--

Now, here you are, seated in the cafeteria surrounded by seven strikingly handsome boys.

All eyes are on you, not because you're exuding some extraordinary beauty, but rather because you're in the company of the very boys every girl in college seems to swoon over.

Their names, you soon learned, were:

Kim Seokjin, better known as Jin
Kim Namjoon, or RM
Min Yoongi, known as Suga
Jung Hoseok, or J-Hope
Park Jimin, commonly called JM
Kim Taehyung, also known as V
And your best friend, Jeon Jungkook, simply JK.

"Yn, I heard you’re pretty good at math," Namjoon inquired, curiosity evident in his voice.

"Not really. I don’t particularly like it. But math exams are usually easy, so I manage to solve the problems," you replied, clarifying his assumption.

“Bookworm,” Hoseok mumbled under his breath, though you didn’t catch his words.

Meanwhile, Jungkook was absorbed in his phone.

“Jungkook, put your phone away or I’ll break it,” Jin warned sternly.

With a dramatic roll of his eyes, Jungkook placed the phone down

“Let’s order something,” Taehyung suggested, and the others quickly chimed in agreement, except for you.

When the food arrived—noodles and pasta with Coke—everyone eagerly dug in, except for you and Jungkook.

You hesitated, feeling slightly self-conscious, while Jungkook, ever in tune with you, waited as well—knowing full well he’d end up eating from your plate.

Finally, you started eating, and Jungkook followed suit, eagerly attacking his food.

Everyone else couldn’t help but notice the two of you sharing the same spoon.

“Yn, the noodles are really delicious,” Jungkook offered, holding out his chopsticks for you to try.

You tasted them and your eyes widened in surprise.
“Uhmmm, you’re right,” you agreed.

Just then, Jimin posed a question that drew the attention of everyone at the table, except for Jungkook, who seemed to already know the answer.

“Yn, are you single?” he asked, causing a wave of discomfort to wash over you.

“Yes,” you replied cautiously.

“Do you have a crush, or someone you're interested in?” Hoseok asked, tilting his head in curiosity.

“I—” You barely began to answer when Jimin interjected.
“What about Jungkook?”

Jungkook’s eyes grew wide as he glared at his mischievous friend.

“Pardon?” you asked, confused by the sudden direction of the conversation.

“I mean, what about Jungkook being your boyfriend?” Jimin clarified.

You glanced at Jungkook, who was already staring back at you, and for a brief moment, the two of you were locked in each other’s gaze.

“Can I get an answer? What about Jungkook as your boyfrie—” Jimin’s question was cut short as two people at the table burst into laughter.

You and Jungkook.

Turning to face him, you gave him a high-five.
“I’m sorry, that’s just too funny,” you managed to say between your fits of laughter.

“Yeah, you’re right,” Jungkook agreed, taking a sip of water in an effort to compose himself.

“How long are you two going to keep laughing? I’m not that bad, okay?” Jungkook huffed, feeling slightly rejected.

“You’re not bad, koo. Every girl in the college drools over you,”

you teased. Jungkook, on the other hand, glanced at you with a look of affectionate amusement in his eyes, surprised at how hilarious you found the idea of him being your boyfriend.

As the laughter subsided and you stood up, ready to leave, you threw a parting remark, “You guys are ridiculous.” Jungkook watched as you disappeared from the cafeteria, a soft smile tugging at his lips.

“So, Mr. Jeon Jungkook,” Taehyung began, a frown creasing his brows, “would you mind explaining why you were looking at her with such, let’s say, loving eyes?”

Jungkook turned to face his friends

“Jimin, do you have any idea what you just started?” he groaned, taking Jimin’s smaller hands in his larger ones.

“She’s single. I was just asking,” Jimin shrugged nonchalantly.

Jungkook sighed. “Hyung, just let me have one healthy relationship with a girl, please.”

Yoongi scoffed at the younger boy’s pleads, a knowing smirk playing on his lips. “What do you think we are, fools? You even quit smoking because of her,” he pointed out.

“I swear, the two of you are going to end up together,” Jin added with certainty.

“Oh, definitely not,” Jungkook retorted.

“Bet?” Jimin grinned, the same smirk that had been on his face the entire time.

“Bet accepted,” Jungkook replied confidently.
