--Y/n's perspective --The party pulsed with life around me, but I felt a growing tension that threatened to boil over.
I was standing there, trying to enjoy the music, but my thoughts kept drifting back to Jungkook.
His presence lingered in the back of my mind, and I could feel the weight of his gaze even across the crowded room.
"Y/n! Come dance with me!" Leo's voice broke through my thoughts, pulling me back to the moment.
I smiled at him, forcing away the distractions as I took his hand, allowing him to lead me to the dance floor.
As we danced, I tried to push aside the nagging doubts about Jungkook.
I wanted to be present, to enjoy this time with Leo.
But as the night wore on, I couldn't help but notice Jungkook standing off to the side with Taehyung.
They were laughing, but there was an intensity in Jungkook's eyes that made my stomach churn.
I felt a pang of frustration. Why couldn't he just let me be happy?
Why did he insist on hovering around like some protective shadow? I
was just about to lose myself in the music when I overheard a few girls gossiping nearby.
"Did you hear? Jungkook almost got into a fight over Y/n," one said, giggling.
"Yeah, he really thinks he can dictate her life," another chimed in.
Anger surged within me.
Why did Jungkook have to make everything about him?
I didn't need him fighting my battles.
I was perfectly capable of making my own choices.
"Let's get some drinks," Leo suggested, pulling me away from the dance floor. I
nodded, desperate for a distraction.
As we moved through the crowd, I couldn't shake the feeling of Jungkook's eyes on me.
The way he watched us felt suffocating, like a reminder that he was still there, still a part of my life even though I was trying to move on.
When we reached the bar, I grabbed a drink, frustration bubbling to the surface.
"Can you believe Jungkook? He's always meddling in my business," I blurted out, my voice sharper than I intended.
Leo's brow furrowed. "What do you mean?"
"He acts like he knows what's best for me when he doesn't!" I huffed, crossing my arms defensively. "He's always hovering, waiting for me to mess up. It's infuriating!"
Leo frowned, concern etched on his face. "Maybe he cares about you, Y/n."
"I don't need his protection! I'm with you!" I shot back, the anger spilling over. "Why can't he just accept that?"
As we made our way back to the main area, I noticed Jungkook and Taehyung laughing together again, and my irritation flared anew.
It was infuriating how carefree they seemed while I felt like I was being pulled in two different directions.
Suddenly, we approached Jungkook, and the laughter died in the air.
His expression darkened as he took in our proximity, and I felt a rush of heat in my cheeks.
"Why are you with him?" Jungkook's voice sliced through the noise, laced with an intensity that made my heart race.
"Because I choose to be!" I snapped, the anger bubbling over. "I don't need your approval, Jungkook!"
"That's not the point!" he retorted, stepping closer. "I just don't want to see you get hurt."
"Why do you care?" I shot back, my heart pounding. "You made it clear you don't want to be around me! Why are you still trying to control my life?"
Leo stepped forward, trying to ease the tension. "Jungkook, maybe you should back off. Y/n is happy with me."
"That's not the point!" Jungkook snapped, his frustration palpable. "You don't know him like I do! He's not good for you, Y/n. You're blinded by infatuation, and I won't just stand by while you fall for his tricks."
The accusation hit hard, a taut thread snapping between us. "So, what? You think you know what's best for me? You think I can't make my own choices?" My voice trembled with anger.
"I know enough!" Jungkook shot back, desperation etching his features. "I know he's been lying to you."
I felt a surge of disbelief. "What are you talking about?"
But before Jungkook could answer, Leo interrupted, his voice dripping with disdain. "You're just jealous, Jungkook. You don't want to see her happy. You want to keep her wrapped around your finger!"
Those words struck deep, igniting a fire within me. "Is that how you really see me, Jungkook? As someone who needs you to protect them?" I challenged, my heart racing.
"I don't want to protect you-I want you to see the truth!" Jungkook's voice cracked, revealing his desperation.
"Then why don't you just say it? If you think Leo's so bad, why don't you just prove it?" I asked, feeling the anger shift to something deeper.
"I can't just-" Jungkook started, but I interrupted him.
"You can't because you're afraid!" I yelled, the words bursting forth. "You're afraid of losing me, but in trying to control everything, you're pushing me away!"
"Y/n, I-" Jungkook began, but I couldn't bear to hear him.
"I'm done! You don't get to dictate who I am or who I choose to be with," I said, the hurt and anger spilling over. "You're acting like I'm incapable of making my own decisions!"
With that, I turned away from Jungkook, my heart racing as I rejoined Leo, my anger boiling over.
I felt a sting of betrayal, but I didn't want to dwell on it.
I focused on Leo instead, pushing away the gnawing doubt that lingered in my mind.
But as the night wore on, I felt the cracks in my resolve. Jungkook's words echoed in my head, filled with hurt and confusion
I could sense the distance growing between us, an unbridgeable gap forming, and with it, a sense of loss that I couldn't quite shake.
Deep down, I couldn't ignore the feeling that something wasn't right with Leo, but I pushed it aside, determined to enjoy the night.
Yet, as I glanced back at Jungkook, the worry continued to gnaw at me, leaving me with an unease that threatened to unravel everything I had built.
