--Jungkook's Perspective--
The mall buzzed with energy, a vibrant sea of people rushing about, I was busy with Mia untill.
I’d seen Y/n and Leo from a distance, their hands intertwined, and the sight sent a sharp pang through my chest.
It was as if the air had been knocked out of me, leaving behind a dull ache that settled deep within.
I didn’t want to intrude, but I couldn’t just stand by and watch.
I had to know if she was okay.
The memory of my last message haunted me:
“Please be careful. Don’t trust him.”
It was all too easy to picture Leo wrapping his charm around her, whispering sweet nothings that masked a darker reality.
With a quick inhale, I steeled myself and made my way through the throngs of shoppers.
My heart raced as I approached them, each step heavier than the last.
Y/n’s laughter cut through the noise like a siren song, drawing me closer, yet pulling me further away from the safety of my resolve.
When I reached them, the world around me faded.
Leo was leaning close, his arm casually draped around Y/n’s shoulders, an all-too-familiar smile plastered on his face.
I could see the way her expression brightened in response to his presence, the warmth she radiated when she was happy, and it felt like a knife twisting in my gut.
Y/n turned to me, her eyes wide with surprise, and I saw the flicker of something in her gaze—a mix of uncertainty and hesitation that made my heart race.
I needed to say something, anything, but the words stuck in my throat as the reality of the situation washed over me.
I stepped closer, my heart pounding in my chest.
Y/n glanced at Leo, who shifted slightly, an imperceptible change in his demeanor.
He had noticed my presence, and for a moment, I could feel the tension in the air, thick and charged.
Y/n took a step back from Leo, creating a small space between them.
My chest tightened as I fought the urge to reach out, to pull her away from him entirely.
Instead, I focused on her, hoping that my expression conveyed the concern that echoed in my mind.
As they exchanged glances, I felt the weight of every unspoken word hanging between us.
Leo’s smile never faltered, but I could see the flicker of possessiveness in his eyes, a challenge lurking beneath his surface that made my skin crawl.
Y/n looked lost, her features softening, torn between the comfort Leo offered and the tension that had always existed between us.
My gaze held hers, searching for any hint of the girl I once knew—the one who didn’t shy away from the truth, who trusted her instincts above all else.
The crowd around us blurred into insignificance as the moment stretched out, thick with emotion.
Leo leaned closer to Y/n, whispering something that made her smile, and my heart sank further.
I felt like an outsider in a story I was desperate to be a part of again, but the narrative had shifted, and I was left grappling with the shadows of my mistakes.
“You guys dating?” I asked my tone cold.
Leo pulled Y/n closer and kissed her.
And there my world shattered.
He smirked at me and I got my answer.
“You too look good together” Mia cooed.
My gaze met Y/n who was genuinely happy.
Tsk...y/n you don't what you have got yourself into.
As they turned to leave, heading toward the ice cream shop, I caught a glimpse of Y/n’s face one last time.
There was a flicker of uncertainty beneath the joy, a hesitation that told me she was still wrestling with her choices, still searching for answers amid the noise of her life.
The moment they vanished into the crowd, a rush of frustration flooded through me.
I couldn’t let it end like this. I had to protect her, had to make sure she understood the stakes.
My heart raced with determination as I turned, the crowd now feeling like an ocean I needed to navigate.
Each step I took felt heavier, but I refused to back down. I had made my choice, and it was time to reclaim what was mine.
I would be there for Y/n, whatever it took, even if it meant standing against Leo’s charm and the comfortable cocoon he had wrapped around her.
I wouldn’t let her slip away again.
And for that I have to prove it to her.
